Zena just watched the boy walk away. What else could she do? She wasn't exactly his friend. So, she dismissed his behavior and started to drink from her water bottle. She put the water down and picked up one of her duel pistols and reloaded it. She noticed that she really needed more ammunition for her pistol, duel pistols, and rifle. And all the other ones looked the same. She smiled at her work and then immediately frowned. She felt something, she felt eyes on her. She nonchalantly walked over to her pistol on the boulder and pretended to be looking at it. Then she pointed it a window in an abandoned building. She saw something move out of the corner of her eye, she was one girl that was always on the lookout.

Gabe watched her as she trained, she was a good shot. Almost as good as him, he wondered if it came to a shootout between the two of them who would walk away and who would be left with a bullet through their forehead. The thought of her pointing a gun at him, her face set, eyes focused, every muscle tensed and ready to kill him. The thought almost made him laugh, until he noticed something, that is. She had changed, her movements were more rigid, less fluent. She moved like someone who was on camera for the first time, like she knew she was being watched. She tried to act casually but he could see that she knew he was watching her. He reached for one of the pistols in his waistband, never taking his eyes off of her.

He pointed the gun at her forehead while she pointed hers. But she wasn't aiming for him, she couldn't have been. By the way the gun was angled she was shooting for the floor directly below him. He was on the roof but her gun was definitely pointed at the window below, what was she aiming for? Raven grew fidgety and anxious beside him, a sign that it was time for them to go. He stroked her flank with his right hand while his left still aimed unwavering at the girl's head. When Raven continued to fidget he decided it was time to give up and go home. He put on his sunglasses, pulled his hat down low, and his coat up high covering his entire face so that all anyone could see were his sunglasses. He stood up, still staring at the girl and mounted Raven. He steered her away from the girl and snapped the reigns. In mere seconds Gabriel was flying over the rooftops of London. He told himself he could spy on her anytime, he looked up, it was getting dark anyways, he wouldn't have been able to see much longer even if he had stayed.

Zena sighed, the spy she was right about wasn't in the window. He was on the roof. She saw the person and their dinosaur fly away, but she didn't want to shoot him just yet. She wanted to know why he or she was spying on her. Zena put her pistols on her belt and sighed, what is happening? All these strange things.

Zena went over to Jask and cuddled him in the soft grass right next to the big boulder. This was her life, this is it. She cried herself to sleep, thinking of her mother, thinking about Jask, thinking about everything. Jask whined along with her, scared that something was wrong.

Bijou woke the next morning feeling even happier than usual. She had made a new friend and completely exhausted a group of recruits all in one day. Today she was going to head back to the cafe for breakfast and see if she could find her friend again and now that the troops had all gotten some sleep she wasn't going to tire them out, she was going to scare them. Yesterday they had seen the rigors of training now they would experience the fear of being in a real battle. Bea got up and gently tapped Breyburn on the beak to wake him up. "C'mon lazybones time to get up. You can't spend the whole day sleeping can you? Besides today you get to drop bombs on the newbies, won't that be fun?" He rolled over and lumbered to his feet, gently nudging her out of the room. It meant that if she didn't get ready soon, she'd be late.

"Alright alright I'm going, quit shoving." She made her way to the bathroom to get ready while Cookie flew out to do his business. Joujou didn't know where Cookie did his business but since no one ever came to her to complain she assumed it was a reasonable distance away from the city. As she went about her normal routine, showering, brushing her teeth, and styling her hair for the day she thought of Zena. She wondered where the little renegade was now, and if she was having a pleasant morning. She couldn't think for long since when Breyburn came back they left for the cafe. Nijou smiled, even though she spent a half an hour every morning primping her hair there was no stylist that could make her hair look better than the wind could.

Zena woke up bright and early the next morning. She could feel the salty dust from her tears coming off as she rubbed her eyes. She then looked around for Jask, where was the little rascal? She was going to give him some bread for breakfast and go into town again for some more ammunition.

"Jask? C'mere, boy!" Zena shouted, she went around the field trying to find him. He usually makes a lot of noise when he waddles around. "Guess what? I have some bread for you!"

Zena didn't really need to worry about Jask, he always knew his way home. So, she shrugged and put her pistols on her belt and grabbed her shoulder bag. But before she went, Zena brushed her teeth and brushed through her hair with her fingers.

When she got into town, she remembered Bijou and thought about being a recruit. And then she remembered the spy. That was very suspicious. But Zena promised herself she would call up Bijou later that day.

Zena went into the gun specialty shop and looked for some bullets. She found the right ones for her duel pistols, pistol, and rifle. She noticed her pouch of money wasn't going to last much longer and sighed.

Bijou took longer than usual to get to the bakery that morning, she and Breyburn had gotten sidetracked. They were flying high above the city when Cookie decided to play a joke on her. He suddenly did a barrel rool, flipping himself upside down and before Bijou had even grasped what was going on she was falling hundreds of feet. As she fell she narrowly missed angry commuters, driving to work in their hovercars. She didn't panic however, she just looked up at Breyburn and pouted. "Cookie! Now is not the time for jokes now hurry up and catch me before we're late."

She almost had to shout to hear herself over the wind rushing past her. Cookie turned around and did the most leisurely dive imaginable, he easily kept up with her as she fell and although Bijou was not amused he seemed to find the entire thing hilarious. Bea was now falling past some of the tallest buildings in the city and drawing quite a view. Both people on the street and those in their offices had all eyes glued on her and Cookie. She looked down, the ground was coming up quickly, if he didn't stop fooling around soon they'd have to hose her of the sidewalk. "Cookie, now."

When he realized how serious she was and how close the ground was getting he swooped underneath her, scooping her up onto his back with just enough time left for him to avoid smashing into the ground at 200 mph. She crossed her legs and folded her arms, not even bothering to hold on. "Put. Me. Down." He landed on the roof of the cafe and she gently slid down his back. She stood in front of him with her hands on her hips. "You know what I'm gonna say now, don't you?" She grinned deviously. "That was sick!" She hugged Cookie and felt him purr in response. In actuality it was more of a deep, guttural vibration than a purr but it signified joy nonetheless.

"I'm gonna go get some breakfast, be a good boy now." and with that Bijou went downstairs and tried to have a normal morning.
