NPCs and other information for writing

What are NPCs (Non-Playable Characters)? In video games, these are characters that your main character interacts with to further the story. They might also be called side characters in fiction and movies. In Bully, they would be characters like Petey, Gary Smith, Johnny Vincent. These characters are used to develop the story, reveal your main character's traits and personality, etc. They can be anyone like your main characters friends, teachers, parents, rivals, bullies, lovers, etc. In roleplay, these are characters that your main character will interact with when we aren't interacting with each other. So, in other words, we are going to be writing for not only our main characters, but our NPCs as well. Check my character sheet as an example.

I'm not an expert in writing fictions, but I do know that it's important that every character is driven by motivations. Oftentimes these motivations are blocked with difficult circumstances or 'villians' who have an opposing agenda. Also remember that 'villains' aren't necessarily 'evil', but just has conflicting ideas with the main character.
Here are some common motivations: wealth, health, success, love, revenge, harmony, fun, knowledge, helping others, acceptance from others, social life, recognition, fame, meaning of life, understanding others, caring for others, a happy family, forgiveness, truth, purpose in life, duties, escaping an addiction, lust, overcoming obstacles, control over others, authority, resisting authority, making peace with others, being creative, mastering a skill or technique, overcoming grief, spirituality, religion, etc.

Tip: NPCs might also be used to give your main character 'Quests'.
