The ages of Illia change according to the great events, many are marked in prophecy by Oracles or even The Fate Weaver, whose true name is not known to or able to be pronounced by mortals. It was stated by his first daughter, the very first oracle, that every age would end and begin with a cataclysm, and that there where a limited number before her visions grew unclear as to what would happen.
The age of creation: It is unclear to even The Fate Weaver as to how exactly it happened, or what caused it to begin, but the clearest tale that even he can tell is that the oldest and most powerful being, Au the being of existence formed from the Aether, a realm of pure energy and power, meaning that Au was a strong enough to manipulate enough energy to create himself. With Au's creation it expanded, a mindless creature that knew only to grow, and grow, until it consumed everything, and now is everything. It eventually grew tired and went dormant. Au, a being who's true power and mind is known to no one has never woken from it's hibernation. From the energy of Au four Avatar's where spawned. The Avatar's of Order, Chaos, Time, and Space. They, all new to existence understood nothing but their feelings, and where easily swayed to fighting each other. The clashed for nd unknown amount of time, each hit a clash of their power, creating a being in itself. The first few strikes between them accumulated into the earth, that would form the ground of Illia, then the sky, and finally the last struggle between Chaos and Order formed the ocean, vast and powerful, the last struggle of time and space yielded The Fate Weaver, whom would watch over the destiny of all. All these would be deemed the secondary Avatars. The last struggles where the worst, and considered a great cataclysm.
The age of Birth: All the Avatars but The Fate Weaver joined and reveled in their new life, as the initial ones mastered their emotion and made truces to watch over their new offspring. Order and Chaos joined for the last time as allies and created Mother Life and Father Death. She was a deity to watch over all other beings and keep balance over all living things, while Father Death was to ensure that those defeated by life where taken from it both under Fate's command. After the Avatars joined, they bore children and ceased as it drained their own power to do so and Mother Life was joyous to see her purpose begin. The Premordials came forth, taking control of the forces before them, the forces around their ancestors that had now settled into place and formed the land of Illia. They lived happily and freely until their younger siblings appeared. The first born Premordial knew that if their parents where allowed to keep breeding, that there would be fighting, and eventually not enough room. They could not kill their parents, so instead the attached great chains to the back of the Avatar of sky and to their domain. They rose their domain to the heavens, keeping him just out of reach from his beloved earth. The Avatar of ocean was fearful of being confined himself, and so vowed not to bare any more children with the other Avatars. With this action the Premordials took power, placing their younger Primordial brothers and sisters just below them in stature. They declare themselves kings of the forces of Illia, and formed a hierarchy of power holding Mer, Premordial of light as the leader. Any innocence they once held was mostly lost, with the Primordials being made citizens of their rule.
The age of Premordials: The Premordials and Primordials ruled somewhat peacefully. Many came together and formed children known as Gods. Most gods came from Primordials, but some did come from the Premordials, the latter usually took higher roles in the hierarchy. The First god to take control of a worldly force was the ancient War God Crom. He gained what little power he had at the time mostly from the minor disputes between others. The gods played an important role in the formation of the world, as they showed more initiative and interest in the world rather than the power it bestowed them, unlike many of their parents. Usetas the child of the Primordial Iz was the first killed. He was murdered in a dispute over whether or not he could create life without another deity. He created mankind and in turn the Premordial of Strength, Yul, choked him to death to avoid paying his end of the bet. Iz found out and devised a way to take away his power and tore Yul to shreds. This was the first move that began the downfall of the Premordials. Iz had showed them that they could be killed, and by anyone, which was a new found fact that horrified them. They where outraged and angry, some demanded Iz be put to death, but Mer could find no fault for why Iz did this, for besides knowledge, his purpose in life was his son. To better understand, Mer consulted Chaos and Order, now the keepers of balance in the world, and impartial rulers of all. They granted him his own son's who he raised. All the while trouble kept brewing and tensions rose between the more controlling Premordials and all others. Eventually when the two sons of Mer were grown, Ugair and Zalos, they turned on their father after he cruelly imprisoned Iz for attempting to educate man and slaying Mother Life. They took up arms, and fought. Zalos became the first god to kill a Premordial without ridding him of power, proving that the gods themselves had some power even greater than theirs. The brothers arose and army on the back of their crusade, and constructed weapons made especially to kill their father. After Mer's death and their ascension, they dole out horrid but just punishment to the Premordials, gods, and Primordials that aided their father. Zalos' wife took the place of the old Mother of Life, becoming a catalyst for the power of life. The gods then ruled, not seeking to control the forces, but to maintin them, and hopefully watch over the now advancing and somewhat more impressive mankind.
