Character Creation Guide

Name:
Choose wisely

Species:
You can choose from whatever species you see fit so long as it fits in with the story plot and universe. We tend to stay away from the higher immortals with god-like powers, we only have a couple and those are only there because of what has happened in previous roleplays. If you do make a character with magical abilities or god-like powers make sure you keep their limitations in mind, all characters will have limitations.

Gender:
Whatever you want

Age:
Now this can be hard for people. The average immortal in this universe is 50-150, young is under 30, old is over 300, ancient is over 500. We have very few immortal characters over 500 and while you can certainly make one, don’t go crazy pulling in 5000 year old characters.

Relationships:
Is your character in a relationship? Has he/she ever been? Formerly married? Children living or deceased? Etc…

Former Titles:
What did your character do before the Blight broke out? Did they run a marketing firm? A mechanic? Doctor? Assassin? A purple people eater?

Current Titles:
What do your characters do now? What’s their job in Sequoia? Remember we are running in a universe where there is no electricity. Machines, steam engines, and compression technology run everything. Doctor? Teacher? Trainer? Field agent? What department? Any specializations? Skills? Be descriptive!

Abilities:
You get maximum two if you’re immortal. Remember, if you make a magic based character, they are physically weak and don’t recover well from damage, their magic takes a lot out of them and can even kill them if they over use it. If you make an ability based immortal, they are physically strong but they have little to no resistance to magic, abilities are rare in immortals so not every immortal has them, abilities tend to be understated and can lend themselves to weakening the character. Humans can have abilities too, but they get only one and it must be mental based. Again, this is a rare trait.

Flaws:
Describe your character’s mental/physical/emotional flaws.
The basic flaws and description by species.

Vampires:
Require frequent feeding or they go insane also known as bloodlust because they are prone to attack and feed on anything without discretion, take damage in sunlight, allergic to silver, and all other blood except for human and animal is poisonous to them, difficult to cross breed successfully, low fertility.
Speed: High
Strength: Above Average
Senses: Above Average
Fertility: Below Average
Weaknesses: Above Average, disadvantage rating of -5
Ability magnitude: Majority are low-medium

Werewolves:
Allergic to silver, susceptible to becoming feral or rabid, exceptionally high metabolism requires extremely high food consumption and will become lethargic if not fed frequently, they lose their stamina quickly, and highly fertile and can cross breed with most species.
Speed: Above Average
Strength: High
Senses: Above Average
Fertility: High
Weaknesses: Above Average, disadvantage rating of -5
Ability magnitude: Majority are low-medium

Magic users:
Immortal in the way of aging, they do not express increased strength, stamina, intelligence, reaction time, or healing ability. Physically they are no more than ageless humans and so they are quite easy to kill. Magic usage requires energy from the user, if they are in poor health or injured, it can kill them. They need a cool down period after using their magic or they will drain too much of their energy and will fall into a coma they may or may not come out of. The majority of magic using immortals are infertile.

Weaknesses: Average, disadvantage rating of -2
Ability magnitude: Majority are medium-high

Mortals:
Not physically strong or long lived compared to immortals, Humans are incredibly hardy. They can go a long time without eating or drinking compared to their immortal counterparts, can adapt to many climates, on average not allergic to what immortals are. Susceptible to disease and sickness. Can crossbreed with anything and have average fertility.

Strength: Average-Above average
Senses: Blow Average-Above Average
Weaknesses: Average, disadvantage rating of -3
Ability magnitude: Majority do not express abilities, ones that do express low mental abilities.

Description:
What does your character look like? Dress like? Carry on them? Any special tokens? Wedding rings? Weapons?

Training:
Is your character trained in combat? By who? What forms? Weapons? Any skill related training? Medical? Mechanical? Scientific? Education? Etc…

History:
Where and what was your character before the Blight? Who were their parents? Where were they born? What happened to them? Did they lose their family in the blight? Did they lose people to the Specters? Did they die in a rouge canoeing incident? Are they still alive? What happened and how did you find your way to Sequoia? Did a Delegate rescue you? Did you follow the maps the Delegates left for survivors? Happen to stumble on it while foraging for acorns?

Personality:
This should be pretty obvious but tell us about your character’s personality. Is he/she hard to get along with? Friendly? A major whore? A prankster? That guy? Any quirks?
