History of the Great Kingdoms and Empires of the Brandt Continent
Allied Forces of the Great War

Gaul
The kingdom of Gaul was once a member of the Brandt Tribes, the main peoples of Brandt, which I will explain later on. Unfortunately, due to differences in interest, they split up from the rest of the whole Brandt tribe and created the Gaul tribe, which grew larger and larger until they occupied a large portion of Brandt far to the Northwest. When the other Brandt tribes separated as well, they went into a quarrel over territory.

Eventually, after a millennium of wars fought by swords, they began fighting amongst themselves as revolutions broke out against the monarchs, killing the king, queen, and all their allies, therefore establishing a parliamentary commonwealth after a century of corruption and failing economy and military, which was proven during the Great War, in which Gaul was completely ravaged by an attacking force of only a hundred thousand Cruislani soldiers. Two hundred and a half years later, the throne was once again filled as parliament finally accepted a new king, but this time, this king accepted parliament. Thirty years later, the king's young son ascended the throne, but a decade later, a band of socialist terrorists murdered him and his whole family, tracking down any bastard children that had royal blood in their veins, and establishing a socialist state, which battled against the nations of the newly formed Farsivil nation, as well as Bendan, while they faced a drought and a foot shortage due to the utter failure of socialism.

Sometime later, a military coup was staged by a renowned general after returning from an expedition against a growing barbarian threat from the South. With superior tactics and the support of millions, he revolted against the socialists and reformed the Gaul nation, establishing a temporary military government until they found a new head of state. In the temporary military government, this general was chosen as the First Consul, the head of state. He drafted a new constitution, making the military government more or less permanent, and staged more wars, this time winning. The people looked up to him, and wanted a restored monarchy, so with that, he reestablished the kingdom and remade it into an empire, with him as emperor. This was the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution of Brandt.

Bendan
The kingdom of Bendan has the same history as Gaul, but this time, they moved further east into an island-nation, and created a small road to the West, establishing territory just above Gaul.

This nation was one of Gaul's greatest enemies, as it conquered territories from the South, civilizing the once uncivilized barbarians. However, their imperialism began later in their history. A hundred years before their imperialistic period, the monarch had a civil war between the triplet princes, and after that, parliament was established and revolted against the monarchy at the same time as Gaul did, but this time, it was a more violent process, with a civil war erupting between the powers of parliament and the newly crowned king. However, later on, the royal family was put back on the throne as soon as they recognized the authority of parliament.

After this, they began conquering the waves, spreading north, east, south, and west. They conquered and civilized the barbarians down south, they conquered the continent on the other side of the world, they conquered a portion of Tir, and they conquered half of Gaul during its socialist period. Now, even though their power wanes as Gaul reconquered its territories, the distant continent freed itself, and Tir retook control of the conquered portion, Bendan is still a leading industrialist.

Versia
Like the first two, Versia was once a whole from Brandt, but separated, but instead of having a single tribe, Versia was separated into two, with one staying in Brandt, and the other drifting away to the distant continent called 'Versia Maxima'. Both have the same cultures, but the ones on Versia Maxima weren't the only ones there. For centuries, they forgot about each other until Bendan rediscovered Versia Maxima in its imperialist period.

This was a neutral nation most of the time, with a history of naval supremacy, conquering unknown lands and holding them for centuries at a time. They were the first to introduce the concept of ironclad warships and ship-mounted cannons. Its politics hasn't changed too much ever since it declared itself a kingdom, and it was also the least-affected by the recent economic crash.

Tir
Though founded by Brandt people, the moment Tir was found was in the time before the gigantic Brandt tribe was unified into a single tribe. They adapted to the cold, using it to their advantage.

They are ruled by an Empirio, their equivalent to an Empire, and moved towards the West. It didn't take long for Tir to have a million soldiers in its army, and when it did, it completely ravaged the Western territories of Brandt ruled by uncivilized barbarians, and conquered it, making Tir the largest country in the world. Until before the period of Gaul's rise into an empire, it never mingled with other countries. However, the now non-existent Empire of Herman attacked and conquered one of the states of Tir, and moved forth. Angered, Tir formed an alliance with a bunch of small independent duchies and attacked, angering the newly crowned king of Herman, who was only twelve when his father attacked Tir. At fifteen, the new king of Herman declared war and destroyed the hundreds of duchies that teamed up against it and nearly crushed Tir, as well. Herman conquered these hundreds of duchies, killing all their monarchs and making them officially part of Herman. Tir eventually crushed Herman with the help of the Free State of Cruisland, and thus began Imperial Tir.

The Former Empires

Rubivan
Rubivan is the remnant of the great empire, the Patrenate Empire, which ruled half of Brandt before the Brandt tribes separated. It was formed out of a Senate, with its leaders being the First Consul. However, the First Consul, Patrenos, marched into the territory of the Kin, and plunged the nation into war. With its victory, the nation was proclaimed an empire named after Patrenos, who had died of an arrow to the chest during battle. Due to the barbarianism of the early Brandt people, Patrenate fell a thousand years later, and is now weak. However, it also became the center of the Good Faith after it was founded there centuries before the empire collapsed.

Not much happened with Rubivan, except for the fact that it was the one fighting the crusade with Windhall against the barbaric Southerners. That was, of course, until the war erupted. Due to its good relationship with Windhall, the monarch chose to stay and ally with it, as well as with the Cruislani Empire. Because of their loss, the monarchy was abolished, and the monarch abdicated. After that, Rubivan became the bastion of corruption and crime in the whole of Brandt as the police force, government, and military all became incompetent.

Now, however, many wish to see it returned to its former glory in order to once again strengthen the borders against the barbarians.

Windhall
Windhall was once a territory of the Patrenate Empire until it fell and became a separate entity. It leads the crusade against the barbarians, with walls of metal and stone.

Before the Great War, it waged war against Chorus, which no longer exists today due to its destruction during the war. Because of that, Windhall gained more than half of the land Chorus owned. A few years later, during a parade, a Chorus assassin funded by Chorus' government killed the monarch of Windhall, thus sparking the war.

It was affected the most during the economic crash, halting all industrial works, though for a few months now, Farsivil has begun funding it again.

Bruchen
Bruchen's history as a separate entity dates back only five hundred years ago with Farsivil. Like Windhall, the whole Cruislani nation was built from the hard work of the Patrenate. However, unlike the rest of the Patrenate, Cruisland was a Brandt-controlled location that had formed an early kingdom that had once fought waterborne barbarians, even though it was also a barbarian kingdom before. It was called the 'Cruson Kingdom' during the time of the Patrenate.

The Cruson chose not to fight and accepted the Patrenate as its new leaders after since they were superior during their accidental skirmish of a thousand Cruson soldiers immediately being killed by a hundred Patrenate warriors in less than ten minutes. The king, however, wasn't pleased, and was executed before the Patrenate civilized the Cruson. After the Patrenate fell, the Cruson, now powerful and civilized, established another empire: the Cruislani Empire, which didn't last too long, though in their short amount of time in existence, they had become the elite fighting force of the Brandt continent, also advancing in trade and sciences. The war could have been won, but the sheer number of Tir forces sent to attack it completely overwhelmed the Cruislani Empire after being pushed back by the forces that converged in Tir after being liberated. Cruisland was also the empire that completely crushed Chorus.

After the war, Cruisland was divided into dozens of little states. Bruchen was one of these states, now independent from the newly formed Farsivil. They have the same goal as the reborn Free State of Cruisland: restore the monarchy. However, due to the disagreement on who the monarch should be, and which state should rule a monarchic Farsivil pitted the two brothers against each other. Bruchen fought the Blackwood family, seeing them as incompetent, and instead wished to install their leader onto the throne.

Free State of Cruisland
This was the brother of Bruchen, and completely sharing their whole history. However, due to differences in interests, they became enemies. The parvenu chancellor has begun to move it around, preparing for the creation of a new empire of Farsivil, once again lead by the Blackwood, as well as the Cruisland.

It is the most industrial nation, cutting all economic ties with other countries after the economic breakdown. With industry and its self-supplication of Prismatic Energy, iron, and such, it became the least affected after the crash. It rebuilt itself, and has the power to rival Tir in industrial strength.
