Purpose of this thread:
I will place information about how the Seals, the sources of magic in this rp, work here.

---------------------------------

Description:
Magic in this rp comes from the use of Seals.

Seals are magic circles applied with a Signet (basically a magic circle stamp). These Signets are wielded by Seal Smiths and require special techniques to successfully apply a Seal. This is knowledge known only to Seal Smiths within The Order of Seals itself but it is widely known that Seals can only be applied to metal. These only add minor passive magic enchantments, enhancing the object's properties (i.e. a sharper sword, more durable armor, currency that doesn't tarnish or dent easily, etc.).

The important exception is the Sacred Sigil.

A Sigil is the source of magic for those who bear a Sigil upon their bodies, known as a Bearer. Each Sigil consists of seven Sacred Seals that withhold the magic from ravaging their weak body. As you fight and learn more about your powers, your body becomes slowly adjusted to the magic that flows through it. The next Seal will be released when the state of your mind and body become more attuned to the control of magic.

Appearance
The location on the body is chosen by the Bearer candidate but the seal type is not known until the first Seal is released. Some may receive their Sigil markings on a forearm, along the spine, down the back of a leg or even wrapped around a bicep, but all seven seals are always in a line with each other.

Sacred Seals have three states:
Sealed - Before the Seals are released it looks as if the Bearer simply has a tattoo of seven equal circles filled in with black ink.
Released - As each Seal is released the filling disappears and in its place is left an outline of a black circle.
Activated - When a Bearer uses their magic, they activate all of their released Seals. This reveals what type of Sigil the Bearer has by revealing an elemental icon within the circle outline.
It should be noted that there is no way to tell which type seal a Bearer has unless they activate their Sigil (i.e. use their magic).

Each Bearer has seven Seals
The more Seals released from their Sigil the more powerful the Bearer's magic becomes.

Candadite: After recieving their Sigil but before their first Seal is released, a candadite has a short time frame to release the first seal before the Sigil fades. Minor manipulations of the Bearer's element. Just a bit past a parlor trick. May be used as a small distraction but combat ability is reliant on the Bearer's profecency in other weapons.

First Seal: Beginnings of combat ability with the Bearer's element. Smart usage during combat will allow a Bearer to gain the upperhand. Should still use other weapons to supplement combat ability.

Second Seal: Pure combat level with the Bearer's element. Considered to be an asset in battle that can take on a score of soldiers. Some find other weapons to be a hindrance, while others use both to gain every advantage.

Third Seal: Elite Bearers of The Order. They are able to manifest physical weapons out of their element and are devestating on the battlefield.

Fourth Seal: Captains within The Order of Seals. Rare amongst the Order of the Seals, they often hold leadership positions and command a squad of Bearers. Their capabilities extend to manifesting elemental armor that is as light as leather.

Fifth Seal: Only a few have been known to release the Fifth Seal. Their abilities are kept secret and they usually hold positions of power and respect.

Sixth Seal: Known as the Blocked Seal as none have been able to release the Sixth Seal in recorded history.

Seventh Seal: Unknown. Expected to transcend human capability.
