Tales of Symphonia: After the Fact {IC/Open}

((This is the long-awaited IC thread for my OOC, tales-symphonia-after-the-fact-t40329.html . Before joining here, please visit that thread and read the posts, as there are specific things you should know. Right now, we are still in the market for Lloyd, Genis, and Sheena for sure. A few members are between two characters, so we'll have to wait and see who they choose. These are the pairs of undecideds: Colette/Presea, Yuan/Kratos.

Altamira. It had just had to be Altamira, hadn't it? Thank you, Lloyd.

A quiet sigh - both of relief and exasperation - passed the young woman's lips as her Rheaird finally set down in the soft, lush grass outside the most bustling tourist attraction in the entire reunited world. She dismounted, glad to feel firm ground beneath her feet, and dismissed the flying vehicle back into the Wing Pack at her hip. She had not had to take a ship here, and for that she was glad; but even so, flying over a vast expanse of nothing but ocean had been unnerving, to say the least. Lloyd wasn't malicious enough (or bright enough, for that matter) to have done it on purpose. She was sure it simply hadn't occured to him. Oh, well. The sigh turned into the slightest nostalgic, bemused smile as she shook her head. Same old Lloyd.

With one hand, she brushed long, fine strands of silvery hair out of violet eyes as the ocean breeze played with it. In the two years since the end of their journey, she had allowed her hair to grow out at encouragement from her little brother. These days, it fell around her shoulderblades in a much different style from her days as teacher, healer, and buffer in their old group. Genis had told her he liked it, and that it suited her. She could hardly recognize herself in the mirror now; how would the others react? She was admittedly uneasy about that.

She grimaced as another breath of wind had its way with her hair. Then there was the fact that she was very unused to the length, and trying to deal with it. She became frustrated more than a few times, trying to keep it in line. Typically, Genis just grinned and handed her one of the beautifully crafted hairpins that had gifted them from the elves after the reunification. She would just give a sigh and wordlessly slide it in to keep it, at the very least, out of her face. Today, though, she had no such help, and she was on her own to make it behave.

Raine Sage, no longer exactly "professor," but ever with the attitude of one, banished these musings from her mind and started at a slow and easy pace toward the gate of the Tethe'allan ocean resort town. Vaguely, she did wonder if all of the others would show. She knew everyone was busy these days with their own lives. She and Genis, for example, had not yet finished touring the world to fight half-elven discrimination. Lloyd and Colette had been on a journey to collect stray Exspheres. Sheena was the chief of Mizuho now. Regal owned the very town this reunion was to be held in; she knew they would undoubtedly see him, but he was still certainly a very busy man. Presea was involved in the recently formed plans for Ozette's reconstruction. Zelos... Oh, Zelos. No doubt, he was still "busy" with every female life form he saw. But he was also a noble, and his position was precarious due to the fall of the Church. He must have had much on his mind, as well. But, hopefully, they would all find at least a little time to come. She had missed everyone, and she knew Genis was overjoyed at the prospect of seeing them all.

Aside from her newfound hairstyle, she looked rather unchanged. Half-elves, after all, aged much, much more slowly than humans. She was curious - and perhaps...even afraid - to see how the years had altered her old friends. That was the hard part of mixed groups - on both sides. And it was the reason for the racism so prevelant in Symphonia. But, alas, there was nothing to be done about that. There was no racism among their troupe. She just didn't like the idea of watching them all pass by; but there was nothing for it but to enjoy the present. The present, which right at this moment found her boarding the tram to head for the amusement park. Lloyd had instructed them all to meet there. ...Yes. Leave it to Lloyd to arrange a reunion at an amusement park. Another tiny smile graced her deceptively delicate features.

Here went nothing.

Altamira had always been one of Zelos’ favorite places. The sea, the breeze, the beautiful women: it was every man’s dream vacation spot. That was why he decided to come a bit early when Lloyd contacted him about the reunion. He had already been at the seaside resort for two days awaiting the arrival of the rest of the group. He had seen Regal in passing of course, but the president of the Lezareno Company was busy with business, and Zelos was busy enjoying himself.

His newfound position of authority in Meltokio was much more demanding than Zelos would have liked, but as Sheena had once said, it was high time he made an effort to grow up. He had thrust himself into his work, and it had changed him for the better. He had tried to do his part to unify the city of Meltokio, shattered by the fall of the church. Of course, this was not an easy task. It had been some time since Zelos had looked at a woman let alone . . . well, okay, that just wasn’t true. But, the point was that Zelos felt it was high time he had a little vacation from his duties. Lloyd’s offer could not have come at a better time for him.

Zelos left the hotel that morning in an abnormally chipper mood. He had had an excellent night -- a beautiful young teacher from Sybak had seen to that -- and Zelos was overjoyed that he would soon be reunited with his friends. He surveyed the clear, blue ocean with eyes that were equally blue, and thought what a beautiful day it would be. The fiery red hair that was normally tousled to perfection was up in a neat pony tail as it was a particularly hot Altamiran day.

As he walked toward the tram area, his heart leapt at the sight of a brunette headed woman with a shapely, purple clad body.

“Sheena?” he called after her, but she did not turn around. He ran to meet her, grabbing her arm. The woman turned to meet him with a shocked look.

“Oh,” Zelos said quickly, disappointment in his voice, “I apologize. I thought you were someone else.”

The woman nodded and walked away, and Zelos was left wondering why he was so happy at the prospect of seeing Sheena. Of course he missed her, just as he had missed everyone else. But this was a different sort of feeling. A puzzling feeling.

Zelos put the thought out of his mind and boarded the tram for the amusement park, feeling both excited and apprehensive. Today would either be great or terrible, and Zelos could not help but wonder if the old group could really just pick up right where they left off.

There were butterflies in Sheena's stomach as she approached Altamira. It had been so long since she's seen anyone of her friends. While she was in here house taking care of personal business, her friend Kial notified her of Lloyd stopping in Mizuho and got him to inform Sheena of the get together at the amusement park.

Altamira was the only larger city that Sheena liked, basically because of Regal; wouldn't you like to be somewhere that you're friend owns? Sheena is now the leader of Mizuho, but still. Does Mizuho have an amusement park? Does Mizuho have a beach? Does Mizuho have the beautiful Laserenzo(Sp?) company? Does Sheena love Mizuho any less? All of those questions have the same answer.

While Sheena's here in Altamira, her good friend Kial is looking over the ninja village. I wonder if every thing's going smooth for him... Sheena was a bit worried. Boy, it's quite the hot day out. The second she entered Altamira, Sheena started looking for familiar faces.

"Excuse me Ma'am. Have you seen a anyone from this picture around here?" She asked a kind looking young lady with short brown hair, then pulled out a picture out of her sleeve where she keeps her magic cards. It's a picture of everyone together somewhere while they were on their journey together; Lloyd's in the front with his arm resting on Genis' head, Genis' holding his hand on his hip and his other arm was elbowing Lloyd in the side. Raine's right behind Genis, hugging him from behind. Persea's next to Genis, standing there with her hands behind her back, looking like a little girl waiting for presents at Christmas time. Behind them, Zelos has his arms around both Colette and Sheena, and he's smiling like a kid who's just discovered candy. Colette looks kinda like a scared puppy although she's trying to hide it, and Sheena just has her hand on her hip and holding her index finger and her middle finger up like a peace sign. Last but not least, Regal (Being the tallest) is behind everyone, making it look like Zelos has rabbit ears. Everyone looked so happy and a bright smile was tattooed on every one's faces.

The lady looked down at the picture. "Yes, I've seen two of them, the lady with the silver hair, hugging the little boy walking around here somewhere, and the one with the long red hair wearing the pink was heading for the amusement park I do believe."

"Okay, thank you!" Sheena put the picture back into her sleeve and slightly bowed to the girl. The girl nodded back and carried on with her business as Sheena walked away.

While looking around for Raine and Zelos, she started wondering if they changed at all, Like if Zelos got more mature, or maybe a well needed haircut. Pfft, what was she thinking? Well, it may happen. She was also wondering how far Raine and Genis got in their quest to stop the racism of half-elves around the world. Her heart started to speed up as she seen the train-boat-thing that takes her to the park. She stepped onto it and they left for the amusement park.

Just as they arrived, Sheena found a bench to sit on so she could wait for someone else to come so she wouldn't be wandering alone.
