Charles Landon Summers

The house seemed to sweat in anticipation as the eldest Summers's son slunked through the grand staircase that haunted him with every nightmare he had. His bare feet took care focus with each step he took. Chaz was not ready to be found before finding someone. There were no heels clicking, or the breaking of glass, which was a sign that he wouldn't be hurt for this moment. Sweat dripping from his bruised forehead, Chaz slipped one shaking hand against the wall beside him and curling against the picture frame's edge. As he took his hand off to step into the lobby, he heard a high-pitched squeal. That could only mean one thing: the adults of the estate were gone and Ashleigh Thomas had stepped through the door. Ash was the only girl on the street that hadn't slipped her v-card. The caramel-skinned girl slipped off her worn sunflower Toms and streaked for the lanky boy standing barefoot in the large house's lobby. With what little balance he had, Chaz caught Ash in a bear hug. "Little bitch, you didn't call me last night." Ashleigh scolded, tears stinging at her eyes. Chaz knew if he didn't call, the blonde girl in his arms would expect a call from a hospital or, if time went short, a heartbroken Ali.

Ali meant so much to Ashleigh and Chaz. Ashleigh rarely talked to the boy, mostly gave a shoulder to cry on or company during Chaz's breakdowns. Chaz knew his baby brother inside and out. The loyal Ali Summers always found the good in everything. If Chaz had a scar, Ali would say it would impress the ladies. Chaz would never had stayed in this Hell unless for the protection of Ali. He would do anything for Ali, and loved to buy him things. Ash was still close to his heart, but not as much as Ali. Ashleigh snapped her fingers in front of Chaz's face, sending him out of his thoughts. "Yes dear?" He asked, running a hand through his hair. He wasn't focused at all, and it made Ash worried. "Take off your shirt." Chaz stared at her as if she'd asked him to have sex with her. Not only was she a lesbian, it was just weird. He didn't like showing Ashleigh new signs of abuse, but she wouldn't take no for an answer. Chaz lifted his new Beatles shirt over his head and let her examine. His abs shone with new blackening bruises and there was a bandage on his hip. Ashleigh pressed against his wounds tenderly, and went up to his face. A scar on his eyebrow was hidden by an eyebrow piercing, as did a snake bite on his lip. "You can't let him treat you like this forev-"

"Where is my damn beer?" So maybe he was home. That meant he was home alone, and Chaz's "mother" was doing private business. "Go, now, I have to get Ali." Chaz hissed at Ash, pushing her out the door. Chaz streaked up the stairs, unfortunately noticed by his father. "Where are you going?" Chandler Summers asked his oldest son, who turned around unafraid. "Going to get my books for school." Chaz answered quietly, getting his bookbag and sneaking into Ali's room. "Ali, Chandler's home so you need to sneak through the window. I'll meet you at the bus stop." Chaz kissed him on the forehead, and got downstairs as quick as possible. As soon as he had his hand on the doorknob, another hand got a hold of his hair and yanked him back. "You think you can leave without saying hello to me?" Chandler growled in his ear, sending his son to the floor. After a good beating, with his son bleeding on the floor, Chandler returned to the kitchen for a beer. Chaz was out of the house before the man was all the way out of the room.
maybe we'll survive the second round.

Alistair Grayson Summers

Ali looked up as Chaz kissed him on the head it was so tender and loving he was glad that he had a brother, it was someone to confide in, someone to hold onto in times of fear. Shuddering lightly as the sound of Chandler entering the house, he had a deep hatred for Chandler as well as a great fear of him. Chaz would often get the worst of the beatings mainly for protecting Ali, it was when Ali was alone or if Chandler decided it was him he wanted to beat. Chandler was stronger physically and could defend himself against Chandler but Ali was weaker in the mind although he pushed his stress and fears behind him creating a numb world when ever Chandler struck him he could still feel the pain but it was numb untill the feeling left him. He suffered from terrible nightmares and would lose sleep over them if he stayed awake he could wait untill Chandler passed out from his alcohol consumption. Even if it was rare, all in all Ali held it together on the outside on the inside was different.

Hearing the thud of footsteps Ali stood quickly groaning as his back pulled in pain, shoving his shoes on his he scrambled around the room, trying to make as little noise as possible. Picking up his make up box mainly for foundation incase of any pre school beatings happened, of course the teachers couldnt find out otherwise it would be hell to pay both for him and his brother.

Hastily Ali grabbed his school bag checking he had everything with him was what he needed for today's lessons if he didn't have something he could borrow from someone else. The foot falls we're growing closer and Ali's heartbeat was racing in fear, throwing his bag out of the window he climbed out of the window just as Chandler opening the door his eyes furious a beer in his hand. How it always was throwing the bottle it hit Ali's head almost making him lose his footing, climbing down the drainpipe he landed checking his head for any bleeding luckily it wasn't he had worse. " you'll get it tonight Alistair my boy you just wait" he hissed shutting the window. Now Ali could not avoid his grasp due to his source of escape and entrance being blocked.

Walking quickly from the house he checked his face for any signs of bruising that was noticeable, thankfully nothing was there. Seeing his brother he smiled as best his could rubbing his head slightly he spoke " ready for the finest education of your life?" he said hoisting the bag on his shoulder." your bleeding Chaz" he whisper pulling out a tissue from his pocket and handing it to Chaz.

Chaz Summers

Image

Chaz didn't make it to the bus stop before Ali. That meant Chandler probably hit him. The older boy sighed  in relief when the younger appeared at the stop. Chaz hugged him tightly, giving him a quick inspection. He lifted Ali's bangs where a piece of glass stuck. Chaz picked it out as quick and painless as possible. "Did he throw his beer at you?" Chaz asked, worried blazing from his eyes. As his brother answered, the bus arrived. Chaz protected Ali even at school, as much as he could. Soon, he would be with his abusive girlfriend, as if his Hell wasn't enough at home. He would never let Ali, it was something he'd made Eliza promise she would never do anything in front of Ali. He turned to look at Ali, watching him nonchalantly. His subconscious movements were so innocent. Once they got to school, Chaz hugged him. "Be calm and cool, okay?" Chaz smiled, and ruffled Ali's hair before heading to his locker and the Devil himself.

"You didn't call me last night." Eliza's grip was vice-like against his wrist. Chaz's hand tensed on the locker door as he forced a smile on his face and turned to her. "Sorry beautiful, I had to practice for my… father's party." Chaz could only call that man his father through gritted teeth. To keep up appearances, Chandler and his wife Sarah threw lavish parties that Chaz would play piano at. Practicing was something he did my himself or with Ali, but it usually got him a night without abusive, hungry Eliza on him. "I should be there, our fathers are very good friends. I love you hear you play." Eliza beamed, nibbling on his ear. He smiled, kissing her on the cheek timidly. She took her hand in his, a grip he could only dream to shake off. Only until lunch, when Chaz could be rid of her until his last period.

Ali Summers

Image

Ali winced slightly as Chaz pulled the small shard from his hairline, pulling his hair over his eyes adjusting it as he sat on the bus. His eyes glancing out the window watching tress blow in the wind the leaves dancing on the branches. Stepping of the bus he smiled as Chaz hugged him and groaned slightly as he messed his hair up again.

Walking down the corridor toward his locker he checked his timetable, a lot of meaningless lessons before lunch he realised that he didn't grab any breakfast this morning although there was probably nothing in the kitchen anyway it was a case of sneaking food or holding of hunger untill lunch. Checking his pockets quickly he sighed softly, thank goodness he had money for food. Sticking the books he didn't need yet in his locker he walked to his first class seeing his friends he smiled. " hey Ali, you should have come out last night...that band was awesome " one of his friends Jay said patting him on the arm. Ali suppressed a wince and forced it into a smile " I know I'm sorry I had to help mom with the kitchen...she's thinking about having it reprinted and she wanted me for artistic advice" he lied shrugging his shoulder as he spoke. Jay chuckled lightly " dude you having artistic talent that's like Lindsey Lohan getting out of a car gracefully" he waited a while and half of the class burst out laughing Ali giggled softly and sat down in his place.

( fancy skipping to end of the school day or something)

Chaz Summers

Image

Damnit, damnit, damnit! Before Chaz could even think about enjoying this afternoon without Eliza or his parents, Chandler's Ford and Alissa's Lambourgini stared at him from the driveway. "Ali, stay behind me or try to leave as soon as you can. Go to Ashleigh's house if you get out. Remember, go through your room or the front door." Chaz whispered to Ali worriedly, walking out of the bus tenderly. Ashleigh would be arriving an hour later, fresh from tennis practice. Hopefully, her understanding mother would be home for Ali. Chaz walked up the long stone driveway, his hands shaking. He hated his parents so much, but soon it would be business season and the only bully he would have to get away from was Eliza. Of course,  sometimes oblivious Ali would answer her calls, and Eliza would hurt him terribly. Right now, all he could worry about was Ali's safety. Stepping up the brick stairs in front of the house, he felt sick to his stomach. Chaz entered the house first, and Chandler and Alissa stood in the foyer with malicious grins on their faces.

"Our boys are home, Chan." Alissa commented, walking towards Chaz. He pushed Ali back towards the door, but Chandler was a flash and had the boy in a chokehold before Chaz could react. Alissa hugged the boy like a snake would its victim, her nails digging into his back. Chaz involuntarily flinched as she ran her fingers through his hair. Chaz pulled himself from her grasp, but she had his wrist and threw him against the wall. "You think you're tough, don't you Charles? You think you're tough, and brave. But you're the same little boy who would cry through this. Where's that little bitch you-" Chaz slapped her in a blind anger. Alissa didn't say another word, but took her other son from her husband's grasp. As her nails bit into his sides, Chandler went for his oldest son.

"You're going to pay for that, you little BITCH!" Chandler threw the boy to the floor, his steel-tip boot ripping up the boy's stomach. When Chaz finally cried out in pain, a satisfied grin appeared on Chandler's face. He took the nearest glass bowl, full of burnt out cigarettes, and threw it at the boy's head. The glass showered his head and blood droplets seeped to the floor. "Get up you little faggot." Chandler growled, all too knowing the boy wasn't going to. He tried, all to Chandler's amusement, but was in too much pain. Chandler went into the kitchen for a beer, Alissa followed only after sticking her cigarette into the tender flesh of her younger son's arm and pushing him onto the floor. Chaz made sure they were out the room when he crawled agonizingly to the front and brought Ali with him.

Ali could feel his heartbeat increase with every step as he and Chaz stepped off the bus, he would have given anything for the bus to break down or for traffic to be bad. He knew it would only make it worse if they were late they would get a beating and if they were early they'd get a beating they couldn't win no matter what they did.

Swallowing a painful lump down his throat he stayed close behind Chaz but his protection didn't last long as Chandler pounced on Chaz like a rabid wolf he kept his eyes on the floor his whole body trembling trying to block out the dull thuds that was Chandler kicking Chaz in the stomach.

He tried to place his mind elsewhere so he wouldn't think about what was going on, usually this trick worked to numb his mind enough so his body felt virtually nothing, though that didn't really help when his mother grabbed his arm and burnt it with a cigarette. Thoughts were the worst kind of burns, since they stung the skin for hours no matter how much cold water you put over it.

Wincing as he hit the floor Ali didn't move at all his eyes still on the floor, he sat up slowly and clutched onto his arm he looked to Chaz and spoke " you okay?" his voice shaky and nervous.
