Hello, friends! I'm Sato, a long-time member of RolePlayGateway. I am also one of the three Scholar Team Leaders, and I'd just like to step in and clarify something that Baby said in their post.
The Scholars team is a re-imagining of the Mentors team. The Mentors were a team of writing experts whose sole jobs were to work with users either in a one-on-one, or group setting and share their writing knowledge in the interest of making them better storytellers. You'd see a lot of Mentors taking on pupils, answering questions for new users, that sort of thing.
The Scholars are a slightly different take on that. Someone who is a Scholar exemplifies the idea of what it is to be a user here at RolePlayGateway. They are friendly, active, dedicated, full of innovation and primarily contribute to the betterment of the community with whatever they do. They are not required to work one-on-one with users like Mentors once did.
However, there are indeed some Scholars who love doing that sort of work. Ylanne, Marionetet, myself, and AugmentationAudit just to name a few.
The thing I just want to really establish is that yes, a Scholar is a good person to go to if you need help, but their first actual responsibilities here on the website are not to train or mentor users. If you send a PM to a random Scholar and find that they do not wish to teach you the ways of writing, they're not being rude, they're just recognizing that it isn't part of what they're supposed to be doing.
Thanks. Any other questions, please let me know.
