I'm generally not a fan of pigeonholing characters into "character types," as it encourages clichéd characters in my opinion. That said, I'll put up with it. One thing I really dislike about some GM's on this site is how they insist on using random .gifs of their faceclaims for profiles and whatnot. I don't understand the fixation, and the damned things can be really distracting. Actually, what I dislike more than that are people who insist on using a particular faceclaim and attaching it to an outline for the character. It takes half the fun of the character out of it. Three of my favorite characters I have made were made in RP's that didn't have set character roles. They develop more naturally in my experience. I mean, hell, one of the characters is in the early parts of a romance subplot that neither of us discussed OOC. It just worked with the characters.

I agree wholeheartedly. A certain aspect of RP that I love is that you don't necessarily have set characteristics for your character. They change and develop as you move along. I mean, this RP is still a great idea. However, I find that when there is a set faceclaim, I spend a majority of my time looking through the gifs that I find online for my faceclaim. Haha! And I'm very OCD about character sheets. I absolutely love creating the actual character and then making it look pretty. It's definitely one of my favorite parts of RPing. But I completely agree that a lot of times the GM has a set way that the story is going to go and - this may not always be true - that story line almost always revolves around their own character. It makes the story line a bit bland at times simply because everyone knows where everyone is going to end up. That having been said, I know that in the past I've struggled with creating RPs that include everyone. It's very hard - at least for me it is - to create a good RP that everyone can agree on. Although, I wish I could do it and finally have a beginning and an end to one of my RPs. (:

Yeah, the compromise between character and plot can be difficult.

On an unrelated note, for f**ksake, what is taking the GM so long?

I PMed him/her (her?) about it yesterday or the day before, and have no received an answer.
The violent road. The path of Harmony from the sword. It is a last resort this is true.
It is the Path we take when there is Inequity that will not yield.
When all other paths lead to ruin and an unjust end.
When Good is beset by Evil from all sides.
When your cause, your power, your fury... When it protects the weak, the pathetic, the helpless.
When it is Righteous: The Way of the Sword... Is Beautiful.

I really hate sounding impatient and mean, and I understand that a lot of people are busy, but just out of curiosity; who all is still following this, and are we close to starting?

Well it looks like I'm out of the running, given that JEDH3's character got accepted over mine. I'm cool with that; I've got too many RP's right now as is. I'll still keep up, and might post a second character if needed.
