THIS DIRTY OLD TOWN
Hi there all, just posting about a little RP I have started set in the 1950's and revolving the Earles, a notorious London, East End mob family. I'll post the summary below, along with a link so please come and check us out. We have both canon and OC slots available, with more characters to be added shortly! We are looking for dedicated writers 17+ to help us bring our universe to life!
From the burning embers of London's East End - there rose a dynasty. For six years the second world war stretched across the continents; from Europe to the Pacific, millions died, countless suffered. Londoners endured the blitz, facing the fearsome firepower of Hitler's bombs as they reigned down upon slumbering families in the depth of night. When the men returned, little was familiar; streets they once roamed with confident treads, now desolate and flanked with piles upon piles of rubble and a littering of burnt and shattered memories of the families that once called this town home. The Earle family were but one example. As Richard Earl and his sons returned from war, little remained of the life they once knew; they were a family of decent means, thanks to Richard's tenacity, intellect and arguably, his lack of morals. Before the war, he had begun to taste success with various and questionable business ventures across the city; war had been an unwanted distraction, yet one that he and his sons endured, all the sake of duty. The Blitz saw the destruction of many of his warehouses and lack of leadership saw many of the others fall into disarray - it would seem that the workings of Richard Earle's empire had crumbled, but Earles never gave up, they had always been stubborn bastards. Fortune smiled upon the family once more when the widow of their once rival offered to sell her late husbands distillery for a very reasonable price and a one-way ticket to America. Piece by piece, Richard Earle worked tirelessly to rebuild what they once that, only this time, he wanted more. He wanted a dynasty; a family business to down down to his sons and grandsons - he wanted London. Today, Earle is a feared yet respected name on the streets of London's East End; they seemingly run it all - the bookies, the whores, the liquor...hell, even the local bobbies are bought off in their droves. Yet there is a fable, one that serves as a constant threat to the Earle family; the higher ther climb, the harder the fall, and don't be fooled, there are many who wish to see the fall of this family.
