Jin is one of the Eight Canine Warriors of the Satomi Gale Shrine in Kusa Village. He left shortly in search of his true purpose. Years later he found himself working for Sei-An's Emperor as the Captial's guardian and protector. He was trained intensely under the Sei-An army and works as not only a bodyguard, but also as a spy. This sworn duty, which he has made a well-defended allegiance to, has caused Jin to grow into a rather antisocial, reclusive individual; he is a loner by nature. He is sometimes uncaring, coldly honest, egotistical, wild-tempered, and generally hard to get along with. His demeanor can seem rather gruff and aloof, but his rough exterior personality hides a compassionate and courageous heart of gold.
You can't really fault him for that, though, since deep down, Jin holds a steadfast belief that there's good in everyone, which is why he's given enemies so many "second chances". At any rate, Jin always finds out that he's been duped in time and the consequences are a force to be reckoned indeed. That, and if the person he's protecting is at all endangered, Jin's temper will rise to a fever pitch and will stop at nothing to punish the perpetrator.
In spite of his flaws, Jin is a good guy and a loyal friend, once you get to know him. Just don't piss him off. EVER.
