Ichliebe Bier, Ichy, had come to Hogwarts on one of those typical rainy nights, over ten years ago from Southern Germany. She had been one of the petite first years, trembling in their new school robes at the sight of the monstrous castle. Hogwarts was a place unknown to her and every other nervous ten-year old in her group. She had wondered if she would ever make any friends or if she would disappear in one of the moving paintings or rotating stairwells. In retrospect, her fear had been entirely misplaced. After having been sorted into Ravenclaw, friends were easy to come by and boredom was a rarity. She remembered being very thankful that she didn't have to put up with the controversy of the Gryffindor/Slytherin group. She had been astounded with her studies, soaking in every bit of information the library could offer. With her OWL and NEWT scores, she could have been anything she wanted to be, an Auror or a Healer. The Ministry of Magic owled her with job offer after job offer. But, there had been a boy, a beautiful boy with corn flower hair and emerald eyes. Those same eyes promised her the world, one of love and comfort. She was a smart child, but clouded by the promises of amour. Those same eyes left her pregnant and stranded in California: no money, no wand in a land full of muggles, and very far from anywhere she could call home. Even when she made her way back to Germany, every attempt she had made to go home was futile. Her family didn't care to associate themselves with a daughter who threw away her world in a flash of an instant. Disowned, poor, and pregnant; Ichy had no place to go, no place of happiness for herself and her future child.
Then, she remembered Hogwarts, the one place she had been normal, well-rounded, and healthy. She remembered the kindness of the teachers and the effect their lessons had on her. That was it! In haste, she had made her way to the halls of her former home, and was welcomed with open arms. The Headmaster seemed to already know of her predicament, and it seemed the Defense Against the Dark Arts position was open and hers, if she wanted it. Thus, her life began again. Born, shortly after, her daughter Alleyne Donna Bier, and her job were the loves of her life.
Now, at 21, she had been teaching at Hogwarts for over 2 years. She had seen some miraculous students come and go, and couldn't wait until the new and old clamored through the large doors of the Great Hall. Glancing down at her desk, she attempted to get some last minute paperwork done before the students arrived.
