So, last week I was browsing facebook when I came across something to do with the army and soldiers. It interested me because my father served in the British army for 22 years. Anyway, it made me research and look for more information when I came across this site:

Basically, you adopt a soldier and write them letters and send things to them. Sometimes you hear back from them, sometimes you don't. But it's to show your support while they're out fighting for their country and risking their lives. It doesn't matter if you support the war or not; it's a good cause as a lot of men and women out there may have no contact with their family or have no family to be in contact with.

I just think it's a really good cause and because I love writing everything, from letters to stories to articles and this is a writing community, I thought that I'd post it here in case others were also interested in doing it.

This IS NOT a thread to debate or discuss whether the war was right or wrong; if you support it or not - it's just an informative bit for any of you guys that may be interested :)
