Coheed & Cambria and Comic Lovers

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby RogueMinstrel on Sun Dec 04, 2011 2:56 am

I am actually just looking for some good reviews on the Coheed & Cambria graphic novels. I really love their albums and have only heard mention of their comics and was wondering if anyone who has read them might have an opinion on them they would like to share. Also, if you just have anything to say about Coheed & Cambria in general then feel free to post it. It's all good!

P.S. Don't you hate it when you are reading the rules of a RP and they insist on literacy but when you read their introduction/summary you begin running across some of the worst spelling and grammar mistake you have ever seen? Oh well. : )

I have read and own both Good Apollo and The Amory Wars: Second Stage Turbine Blade
Since you are a fan, I'm sure you know that the comics follow the events that occur in the albums, but it's nice to have a visual to go along with what you're listening to.

I'm personally not a fan of the artwork, but again, I dig the story enough to keep my hard copies.

I haven't been able to locate any of In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth, but I was disappointed when I found pics of Al the Killer's character design (not at ALL like I pictured him).

Overall, since you're a fan, I'd recommend finding a torrent for the comics first, and then deciding if you like it enough to buy it.

Excellent! Thank you very much. Sorry it took me so long to reply. I do not have much opportunity to get on the Internet anymore. I will definitely see what I can find online before attempting to purchase any. I actually just found out that my girlfriend's sister's boyfriend (imagine trying to say that!) has a few of them and we'll be going over there for Christmas so I'm going to steal a glance through his copies. I heard that the artwork almost resembles oil paintings and what-not and though I've always loved oil paintings I could never find one of a person that I really liked, only places and objects.

Ohhhh well, I guess we'll see. :) Thanks for replying! Appreciate it.

The oil painting thing is only true for Good Apollo

The Amory Wars themselves, I don't find the artwork all that appealing. I hope you like it though!
