Confederacy of the Aurora [Multiverse]

Looking for logic-minded players with an interest in story development.

Primarily this is a Sci-fi setting, with heavy elements of Nation Roleplay of both Diplomatic and Warlike fashions.

Given the scale of the sector in which the factions reside, planets, star systems, or even whole sectors (within reason) are able to be made for story purposes, so long as they are- for the purposes of this particular story- involving the primary races.

Additional minor races/factions are allowed to a certain extent.

Deep in the Aurora lies a massive pocket of habitable worlds. From one of these worlds, many generations ago, several different species put aside their differences to unite and elevate themselves to the stars. Since then, they have expanded into a Galactic Confederacy.

The Lirani, a fairly simple Humanoid species that was the first to realize an innate connection between all things. Capable of utilizing that, to a small extent, they can share thoughts and are sensitive to the workings of the Warp and psionic waves.

The Zenids, a much more complex Humanoid species of more varying, vivid colors, that is not only capable of detecting and interfacing with energy and psionics, but have a constant field of energy about them. While they cannot turn this off, they can focus it into a power source; albeit at the expense of their own energy.

The Machids, insectoid beings that fall under a common name. While short lived and seldom capable of operating complex machinery of common design, they are highly intelligent and furious combatants. In their own homes, with their custom made apparatus, they are often some of the quickest beings one might ever encounter.

The Elani, creatures often comprised of stone, wood, or various plant fibers. While not precisely simple minded, they are not taken to thinking over much about things. Varying from immense physical prowess to literally capable of being blown away by the wind, they are one of the longest lived and varied species.

The Aramaeans, a very long lived Humanoid species- with perfect skin of various shades, physical perfection in various fashions, and some of the highest intellect of the Confederacy, themselves as the epitome of all Confederate races. The only failing is that they, of all the species, have no natural psionic connection.

During their expansion, war was frequent. The Confederacy encountered other races, few space faring, and most were eradicated. Those that resisted were put down most expeditiously. Sometimes war would break out from within, for the Confederacy, with its self governed planets and varying cultures, was always picking at itself. But it was a way of life that few saw fault in.

Until it was discovered that the Aramaeans as a whole were conducting obscene genetic experiments; cloning technology, gene splicing, and sometimes simply random acts of malice. As the largest military force in the Confederacy, it became apparent that the Aramaeans did not plan to let the discovery go unpunished.

Unleashing their fleets against the rest of the Confederacy, the Aramaeans battled long and hard. Fifty years ago, things changed.

Another species emerged from the Warp. This one was not like anything that the Confederacy had ever encountered- one part Machid and one part Elani, with several parts unspeakable horror- they were a race of completely organic creatures of various designs, with organic ships and even organic weapons. They did not speak and could not be reasoned with, and so they were called the Wrakin, named for the first sector- Wrak- to fall to them.

Beneath the might of the Wrakin and the oppression of Aramaea, the Confederacy pushed hard. Retooling themselves slowly into a war machine, they fought for all their worth. But now, the Aramaeans have struck a new vein. Utilizing mind control technologies, and the fruits of their cloning experiments and genetic manipulation, they have made themselves even more powerful. The Wrakin grow in number with every passing day, and the Confederacy shrinks every moment.

Amidst all of this, the Confederate Sector is discovered by the rest of the Multiverse; and lurking in the shadows of it all, yet another faction lurks, biding its time.
