Kloud wrote:The year is 2073; the setting is the glorious rhapsody of the Milky Way. Thousands of planets and moons have been terraformed to allow for human settlement; some are paradises, whilst many are slums. Travel between planets has been made easy trough the use of massive, inexpensive ‘Astral Gates. Many of those people cryogenically frozen in the 20th century have been revived, but only to face the debts they accumulated in their dream-like sleep.’ Bounty hunters are abundant, but nowhere near as abundant as the criminals they chase.

After the fall of the galaxies largest criminal syndicate known as ‘The Red Dragon’ in 2072, various small crime syndicates and even certain individuals have sought to take over where Red Dragon left off, at the heart of the galaxies criminal underworld. This makes three things certain, it is a bad time to be a cop, a good time to be a criminal with ambition and an even better time to be a bounty hunter with a gun. The Inter-Solar System Police (ISSP) are more than overstretched and as a result the price on the heads of criminals has almost doubled and therefore so has the number of people choosing to take up the dangerous profession of bounty hunting, some bounty hunters become rich and famous over night, however most seeking this fame often fall, far and fast, landing themselves in the rather concrete medical condition known as death.

Riku Uchiha wrote:Well, as in Cowboy Bebop, this RP won't have too much of a set story. Bounty Hunters chase criminals and some of the criminals end up becoming a huge story, others go down in one episode.

You just have to decide where it is you wish to stand, a cop trying to make a difference in a solar system dense with criminals and law-bending bounty hunters, a criminal trying to claim the glory at the top of the criminal underworld, or a bounty hunter trying to make it big overnight, or none of the above, the choice is yours, it's a free galaxy after all.

Kuroda landed in one of many space harbors on the planet Crimson. He was here because he had just started his profession as a merc. and rumor had it that Crimson had some of the best and worst in the galaxy, the two groups he expected to employ him. On a more random not the planet Crimson was aptly named for it's dark red oceans, something that distinguished it from many of the planets. It had a few sister planets called Cobalt and Chrome one named for it's intensely blue seas, and another for it's highly reflective metallic colored seas. However, the action seemed to be on Crimson for now. Two criminals, from a near by planet called Fearrar, they were wanted for various acts of terrorism and were believed to be back on Crimson. They were siblings, a male and a female, both about 30 years of age.If anywhere these two were bound to be in the low end of town, people there didn't care for the law, you could get anything you needed, and in some cases even get aid for a common goal. For this reason, once Kuroda took care of the docking requirements, he headed to the low end of the city and began searching. They could hire him and he could keep them monitored, or they could refused and Kuroda would take the role of a bounty hunter, either path would work.

Haze:

"How the hell can you charge me for flying into a moon!?" A man in a long red trench coat practically shouted through the small ISSP office.

A small, studious looking man with think horned-rimmed glasses replied in meek tones, “I’m sorry sir but those..." He was interrupted before he had a chance to finish.

"It's just a huge lump of rock rotating around this planet, how a few hunks of metal on its surface can really be worth one million won!" The angry man’s voice shouted, his voice almost raising a whole octave.

"It is more the time and resources used for your rescue sir and I'm afraid that until the fine is paid, your request for an exit visa will not be permitted..." He waited a few seconds until the other man was just about to reply, then he practically screamed "Good day to you!" With that he slammed shut the metal shutter of the small information desk window. Haze smashed his fist into the shutter, a decision he immediately regretted, his fist swelled up purple, he was handed another fine of fifty thousand won for damages incurred and was escorted off the premises.

The irate man barely caught the notice on the digital display bored outside the ISSP station, it detailed an increased threat level posed by two criminals; their bounty had been significantly increased. He didn’t even bother to check the BH Network. He was going to a bar, going to have a drink and then going to figure a way out of this mess. Within ten minutes he was sitting at Danrak’s bar, one of the scummiest joints in town, with nearly a vat of scotch in front of him.

Bad Guys:

Leaning against one of the huge cement pillars of the hanger, Finnius turned to Sarah and asked in his usual, gravel like tones. “So how much more do we need?”

Sarah seemed focused on the task at hand; she was working at the control console of a large metal cylinder which lay in front of her. The cylinder was full of wiring and various shaped square boxes marked in hazard tape. “One more shipment, at the moment there is only enough of the material and C4 to destroy a quarter of the city, with radiation seeping out to about half of the city.” She spoke, not looking up from the console.

“I see...my hair started falling out this morning, that'll be the radiation I guess.” The man spoke casually.

“In two days, it won’t matter.” She replied in equally casual tones.

“Humph” the man grunted, "I'm going to pick up the copper wiring and the spare detonators from Danrak, I'll be a while, probably stop of for a drink while I’m there." He spoke whilst holstering a black colt pistol to his hip. He donned a loose fitting leather jacket and made his way towards the hanger's front entrance.

"Buy me a pint!" The woman called, still focusing on her work. There came no reply.

((O_o where allowed to post right?????))

"Open Sesame." Yie uttered before opening her laptop lip. She smiled to the face on the desktop before she looked around the bar. She was on Crimson. On the lower part of the city, in a bar where most thugs hung out. Where there was thugs, Bounty Hunters would be there too. That was her mission. Find the Hunters.
Yie was a odd child. After her being ditched on another planet, she has been hitch hiking, trying to find a Bounty Hunter who would take her on board and put her skills to work!
She looked around before going up to the bar. "Give me a coke please." she said then leaned over so her elbows were propped up on the bar. "We don't serve little girls." The buff bartender laughed then looked to the rest of the bar counter people, who were laughing at her as well. Her blood boiled. "Serve me my damn drink!" she yelled, glaring at the man. Her hand quickly went to the man's shirt, jerking him down to her level. She moved her body just in time so he would hit the bar instead of her. After he hit his face, at least three times, she let go of him. "Now, serve me my drink." she growled, tossing the money at him.
As she waited on her drink, she closed her eyes. No one could tell what she was doing, though at the point most thought she was crazy. Suddenly, she pulled out her gun and turned around, looking to her computer and a man about to grab it. "You touch him and your brains will be on the wall." she stated, her tone cold and serious. The man nodded and took off running, leaving her stuff be.
"Here take your drink." The tender stated, handing her the drink and her money. "For a woman as strong as you, its on the house." he said, rubbing his cheek and wiping blood away from his mouth. She must have busted a few teeth.
Yie smiled and took the drink and her money. "Thanks, hunny." she chirped, putting her gun back in its holder on her upper thigh. She took a sip before walking back to her computer. "Stupid men." she chuckled before putting on goggles and started looking for Bounty ships in the area.

Kuroda looked around the slummiest part of Crimson and thought to himself, "Crap, I forgot my guns! Amateur move!" Half way mad at himself, Kuroda went back to his ship and retrieved his guns that were conveniently hidden in a guitar case. Returning to the ghetto, Kuroda looked around once more and mumbled to himself, "If I were a bounty hunter, criminal, or anyone with money where would I hang out?" Noticing a bar named, "Danrak's Bar," Kuroda thought to himself, "Jackpot!" Kuroda wasted no time entering the bar, taking a seat, and ordering a drink. "Cola please," he asked in a neutral tone. This was a bar in the hood, everyone was getting drunk, and almost everyone in here had a gun. Adding all these things together made the bar a powder keg just waiting to explode, Kuroda wasn't going to take the risk of being off his game. Assuming the tender was busy with other people's drinks as well, Kuroda took advantage of the time to survey the room noting any peculiar characters, the exits, probable points of cover, and anything else. Thus far, there were only two note worthy characters, a girl on her laptop, a risky move, and a battle-hardened looking man drinking scotch. Kuroda thought to himself, "Those will probably be my best allies or worst enemies if anything should to go down."

Yie continued to surf the local net and search for ships until she noticed someone new in the bar. "hmmm....no kitty cat."
she told herself as her curiosity began to rise. After a few clicks, she was already on his profile, reading all there was about him. "Interesting." she said then looked to him. She blinked a few times then took off her goggles and looked at him again. "Target spotted." She whispered then started gathering her things. Once everything was in her bag, minus her laptop, she smiled and kept her eyes locked on the man.

Brandon stood outside in the slums of Crimson. The sky had begun to turn grey and rain began to fall shortly after. The tall building Brandon leaned against provided him with ample shelter, keeping him and his expensive clothes dry. Smoke from the cigarette in his mouth mixed with more seeping out of the doorway of a local bar directly across the street from his position. He phone rang and he pulled it from his pocket, bringing it to his ear but not bothering to say "hello."

"The police force has a job we need you to do. We can pay you the usual fee." A man's voice emitted through the speaker into Brandon's ear.

"Add 10,000 or I'm not doing it."

"Why you lit-" The voice started.

"You need my help or not?" Brandon interrupted.

A low grunt came over the phone. "Fine." The voice said angrily and hung up. Seconds later, Brandon's phone vibrated. The email he had just recieved contained information on the suspect they needed captured. Picture, background, everything needed. Grinning, Brandon pocketed his phone and entered the bar.

Haze:

Haze sat their dumbfounded, he had just seen a man practically kill himself trying to man-handle a girl half his size. The rest of the bar clientele didn’t seem to know how to handle the situation; some looked like they wanted to level the girl, whilst other seemed to want to leave. A compromise seemed to have been reached and now all of the clientele passing the girl gravitated about a metre from her at all times. He looked down into what remained of his scotch… ‘One more of these and I’m going to have to buy that babe a drink’ he thought pleasantly to himself. ‘Life is too short he quickly reconsidered ‘I’ll go buy her one now.’

Suddenly there was a vibrating sound coming from the man’s pocket, he took out his mobile, it was a bounty hunter network update, anyone on crimson who was subscribed would probably get the update, against his better judgment he read the message. It indicated the increase in bounty of two wanted criminals and a possible sighting on crimson. The file had photo attachments but they were too blurry to be of great use. He put the phone away stood up, staggered ever so slightly, then walked towards the bar, clearly ignoring the orbiting fiends surrounding the girl. “Nice moves, drink?” Haze asked in casual tones, he was anything if not blunt.

Bad Guys

Finnius walked into the bar, he kept a baseball cap fringe low on his face, concealing much of his for head and eyes, his jumper reached up from his neck, onto his chin, concealing some of the lower part of his face, the man was sweating through the many layers of clothing, but such precautions were necessary. A perceptive eye could catch the many strands of thin hair that had fallen onto the back of the mans jumper.

The man walked over to the far side of the bar where there seemed to be less customers, the mood in the bar seemed more tense than usual, he paid it no attention, it was not his concern. He took a seat on a ragged looking stole. Once he had caught the eye of the bar tender that seemed to recognise him, he tipped his cap slightly. The bar tender nodded and reached for the phone behind the bar. In less than a minute the door behind the bar opened and a huge man, the width of three men squeezed through. He wore a string vest, black trousers and carried a parcel in his right hand and a large old fashioned shotgun in his left. Most of the regular customers paid this man no heed; he was Danrak, the only man allowed to openly carry a weapon in Danrak’s. He made heavy footsteps towards Finnius and started conversing in hushed tones.

Yie kept her eyes on Kuroda until someone else had come over to her area and spoke to her. Her eyes darted onto him, then focused. "A drink?" she asked then looked to her coke, which she had downed without knowing it. She smirked, a Cheshire grin, then nodded. "Sure." she said, trying to be as mature as possible. She looked to the counter then to him. "Anything." she said, not wanting to be to picky. As soon as he went off to get the drink, she opened her laptop and scanned for any information on him. She noticed he was a hunter. She smirked and closed the lid to her laptop and put it in the bag, waiting for him to come back.

Kuroda remained where he sat, he had a sniper mentality about him. "Why move when I can stay here and analyze the situation?" he thought. One of the previously sitting patrons moved into the once empty, one meter circle around the youngest person in the bar. Yet another man entered the bar and sat down, a large man with a shotgun approached him. Kuroda wasn't new to crime or counter-crime ops., chances are this was an underhanded deal, and it was best not to approach until afterwords. Preparing to make his move Kuroda kept his hand on his on his guitar case and waited for the perfect time to move.

As Brandon entered the bar, he immediately looked around, observing the patrons. The first person his eyes settled on was a man in a bright red trench coat, as red was the most noticeable color to the human eye. He turned his head and noticed the usual drunk slobs, but his eye caught on a girl at the bar. Odd, women usually never came to this bar. Brandon casually strolled in further, taking a seat 3 stools away from a man who looked oddly familiar. Turning his head, he recognized the face at once. It was Kuroda, another Merc. They had met a few times in the past, as they had both been hired by the same people to complete "missions" often. They've actually been hired against each other before as well. Brandon saw him as sort of a rival, but held no hostility for him. "Haven't seen you in a while." He said, directed towards Kuroda. The bartender walked by and Brandon waved a hand at him. The bartender turned and walked off, returning with a drink and placing it in front of Brandon.

Haze:

The man stood at the bar while the drinks were being poured, he ordered the girl more of the same and ordered himself a pint, feeling the need to tame down his own drinking. He spent the wait for the drinks surveying the bar.

A large fat man with a large shotgun had just lumbered past him, due to the way the regulars seemed un-phased by the man, he was obviously the owner. Haze's lazy eyes caught glimpse of a new patron to the bar, he carried himself like a soldier. He had taken a seat near a man Haze hadn't taken notice off until now, a man with light hair and a guitar case, he too had a thousand yard stare to his eyes, which suggested he had spent time on a battlefield, a stare which was now subtly focused on a deal the owner seemed to be brokering on the less populated side of the bar. The bounty-hunter glanced at the ensuing bargaining, in their hushed tones it was impossible to hear specifics, but a package and an unsealed envelope seemed to have made their way onto the bar. The drinks were ready, so he brought his attention back to the present and returned to the mystery girl with the drinks. He put the drinks down and offered his hand to the girl "Haze," he said "Haze Sandstrider." Obviously completely oblivious to the fact she had just been researching him.

__________________________________________________________________________

Finnius was abrupt and to the point. “The detonators?”

Danrak laughed, “you terrorists or freedom fighters are all the same,” he spoke in hush but confident tones “No class, no time for anyone or anything that doesn’t concern your petty causes.

Finnius didn’t respond in anyway, ‘class, rich coming from an overweight part-time crook.’ He thought to himself. He pulled the cap further down over his face and placed an envelope full of won in front of Danrak.

“Fine” Danrak spoke after a moment’s pause “have it your way, no chit-chat, just make sure none of your sh*t comes my way, cops, hunters or bombs.” With that he took a package out from underneath the bar and slid it towards the man, they took their respective packages, Danrak nodded and then went about doing his rounds of pleasantries with the regulars while Finnius finished his drink.

“No sh*t your way… not bloody likely” Finnius quietly muttered to himself, a wry smirk formed on his face.

The bar tender finally brought Kuroda's drink. Kuroda then turned to a the man who said, "Haven't seen you in a while." It turned out to be Brandon, a merc that Kuroda viewed much like his brothers in arms back on his home world. He was almost like a rival and brother at the same time. Kuroda took a sip of his cola and then said, "I know, right? So who's been employing you?" Kuroda started to get emirsed in the conversation, until he realized the target might get away if he got to invoulved. Kuroda kept one eye on Brandon, and the other on the wanted man(So to speak).

"Mostly criminals lately. Police hired me to get that man back there a few minutes ago." He replied, nodding his head over his shoulder at the man Kuroda was eyeing. "Don't worry, he won't be leaving the bar for at least another hour. Usually stays here til about....6ish." He continued with a smile at the end. "I take it you're after him too?" He turned in his seat to face the bar again, grabbing his drink and downing the entire glass in one gulp. If Kuroda were really going after the same mark, perhaps they could work together. Then again, things might turn the other way and they would break out into a race for the man. Whichever way it went, Brandon knew it would be fun.

Good guys and Bad

“Well if you really want to know,” Haze turned his gaze right, then left shiftily and then returned his gaze to the girl. “I’m a professional space cowboy,” He spoke in overtly covert tones. His phone started vibrating again, it was a much more violent alert than before, he quickly checked it, it was a police transmission, the bounty hunter made a habit of pirating the police GPS and transmissions whichever planet he happened to find himself on. The transmission read, “Target verified at location ‘Danrak’s bar,’ going in hot at 17.45, all non essential units to remain in vicinity, are to arm, and standby for further orders.” Haze’s eyes dropped to the picture below the message, there was no mistaking the guy had the exact same build as the guy at the end of the bar, his eyes then found the bounty…which was an extortionate amount, he then saw the time, which was just coming up to 17.44. ‘All I have to do is take him out before the police get here… but then they’ll take the credit and there’d be no won for me, it has to be somewhere away from the bar.'

“Cops are coming, scramble!!!” The man screamed in a bar full of criminals, at first all the chatter in the bar stopped and there was a stunned silence, all eyes fell on the man at the bar yelling… then one of the patrons near the window, slowly and in exaggerated motions opened one of the closed curtains, there stood one very young officer in riot gear, who looked almost as surprised as everyone else in the bar.

In an instant the bar turned into chaos, there were three exits from the bar, the front entrance, a back way that led out into an alley and the door behind the bar which probably led to a second floor and a fire escape. Several of the bolder more stupid patrons pulled out their pieces and made their way out of the front which would obviously end well for them considering the amassed force of the Crimson police force, several of the slightly smarter career criminals ran out of the back door, however no police force worth its weight in Kevlar would not have officers out there. Finnius however jumped over the bar and bashed through the door behind the bar sending splinters flying, he was going to attempt a rooftop escape, Haze pulled his gun and took up pursuit, slowed down by the pandemonium he ended up several metres away from the man. He seemed to have almost completely forgetting about the girl he had just bought a drink for. Haze ran through the door, he couldn’t help but think ‘This man runs like a fu*king racehorse!’

Yie couldn't help but to smile a little when Haze answered her question honestly. It was a nice quality she would look forward to seeing more of in the future. Yes, she was already planning her stay or accompanying the man somehow. When he got the message she knew something was up and things were about to get hectic. She smirked a little more, reaching down, she grabbed her bag.
She winced at how loud he yelled that the cops were coming but watched the people scramble like roaches. She couldn't help but to laugh a little. After all, practically everyone in the bar was wanted, minus Haze and herself; or possibly she was wanted as well. She didn't keep up with her own record. She didn't do anything too bad.
When Haze took off running, Yie fallowed right behind him, pulling out her small hand gun. "I got your back, Haze!" she stated then tossed him a small computer that would show the roof of the building. "Its locked onto that guy, so you can see where he goes." she said, still running behind him.
