This is pretty much a remake of the previous one, since we felt that the RP was going to fast, and people were getting lost. Those already involved in the RP, just re-post your characters. Not everything has to be the same if you do not wish. We will be taking off from the Tavern, where most people got lost, that does not necessarily mean that is where you have to be again, its just an option, you may start from where ever you'd like. The new IC will be posted once everyone has had a chance to sign up."Thedas is a land of fierce diversity, from the assassin-princes of Antiva to the faded griffons of the Anderfels, but in my travels, I have found one tale that unites the people of this land. It is a story of pride and damnation, and although the telling differs, the essence of the tale remains the same.
At the height of its power, the Tevinter Imperium stretched over much of Thedas, uniting the known world under the rule of the tyrannical magisters. It is said that the Old Gods whom the magisters worshipped gave them the knowledge of blood magic, and the magisters used this forbidden power to cement their rule. The blood of elven slaves and humans alike ran down imperial altars to fuel magister greed, the tales of their excesses so horrifying that one can only be grateful that blood magic is prohibited today.
But all that stands tall must eventually fall. Perhaps they foresaw their ruin, or perhaps their pride knew no bounds, but whatever the reason, the magisters dared to open a magical portal into the Golden City at the heart of the Fade. They sought to usurp the Maker's throne, long left unattended in the Golden City after the Maker turned his back on his creations. They would storm heaven itself with their power and become as gods.
This is what the Chantry, in its oft-exercised tendency to understate, refers to as the second sin.
According to most versions of the tale, the magisters did indeed reach the Golden City and walked into the home of the Maker, where no living being before them had dared, or been able, to tread. But humanity is not meant to walk in heaven. The magisters were wicked with pride and other sins, and their presence tainted the Golden City. What once was a perfect, holy citadel became a twisted home of darkness and nightmares. The magisters were expelled back through their gateway and cursed for their treachery. As the Golden City had been tainted, so were the magisters twisted and transformed into things of darkness--the very first of the darkspawn. The Golden City, once a shining beacon at the heart of the Fade, became the Black City, a reminder of all that man's pride has cost." "Men and women from every race, warriors and mages, barbarians and kings... the Grey Wardens sacrificed everything to stem the tide of darkness... and prevailed."This is an RP based off of EA's new roleplaying game Dragon Age: Origins. ClassesMage-Harness the dangerous forces of magic.
Warrior-Relies on arms, armor and skill to defeat enemies.
Rogue-Masters of shadow, stealth and deadly attacks.
Subclass(choose one)For Mage- Shapeshifter, Spirit Healer, Arcane Warrior, Blood Mage.
For Warrior- Champion, Templar, Berserker, Reaver.
For Rogue- Assassin, Bard, Ranger, Duelist.
Shapeshifters must master one form at a time, the most common ones being those that are found in the Fereldan wilds. The mighty bear is popular as are wildcats, spiders, and even birds. Legend tells of mages who mastered even more fantastical and deadly forms. To a skilled Shapeshifter, no door is impassable, no fight is unwinnable, and no terrain inhospitable, as long as they know a shape that can meet the task at hand.
Spirit Healers have the ability to summon protective and restorative spirits from the Fade and can mend flesh and cure diseases.
Arcane Warriors channel magical energies through their bodies to become an unstoppable force on the battlefield using their magic to improve their fighting abilities. This magical art is thought to have been lost; however, it may still exist, hidden in some corner of the world today.
Blood Mage Any magician can feel the lure of the dark blood magic. These dark rites, which were originally taught by demons, tap into the power of life force and to give the magician access to powerful blood magic. This power, however, demands a price; a Blood Mage must be willing to sacrifice his own life force or that of allies, in order to be able to use this dark magic.
Champion The champion is a veteran soldier and a confident leader. Their skill and bravery are impressive enough to inspire allies, and demoralize the enemy. They lead heroes and armies headlong into danger making it look rather easy.
Templar They are a military order of the Chantry that hunts rogue mages. Templars have the ability to dispel magic and drain mana among a handful of holy spells.
Berserkers would sacrifice finesse for the dark rage that increases their strength and resilience. They are renowned as terrifying adversaries.
Reavers terrorize their enemies, feast upon the souls of their slain opponents to heal their own flesh, and can unleash a blood frenzy that makes them more powerful as they come nearer to their own deaths.
Assassins find any notion of fairness a quaint ideal that has no place in combat. Poisons are their weapon of choice, as are crippling strikes that inflict persistent wounds on their foes. As killers, assassins are a market of stealth and efficiency.
Bards follow an Orlesian tradition, acting as assassins, spies, saboteurs and following other secretive pursuits in the constant and sometimes petty, struggles between nobles. Having taken the minstrel's art to new levels, bards are skilled performers and master manipulators; bards can inspire their allies or dishearten their foes through song and tale.
Rangers have an affinity for open terrain and wildlife and are often used as independent scouts and militias. They use the environment to their advantage and can bring wild animals to attack their enemies.
Duelists are deadly fighters who prefer light armor and weapons for quick, yet accurate strikes. They have an almost supernatural reaction speed and are able to dodge attacks with ease, while delivering their own precise blows in turn.
RacesDwarf- Bound by caste and tradition. Time spent underground has thought to be the cause of them not being able to learn magic.
Elf- An oppressed people who have lost much of their culture.
Human- Numerous yet divided.
Qunari- Gold-skinned giants said to hail from an eastern land across the Boeric Ocean.
Just a note to players who wish to be Qunari, all Qunari must report back to their leader, Ashkari, or be hunted down by the rest of the Qunari as is their custom. Beresaad (Soldiers of the Qunari people) scout and roam around Ferelden in groups to let Ashkari know what it going on in the nation
FactionCommon Soldier or Citizen.
Grey Warden- The Grey Wardens are an organization of the most elite and feared of warriors, dedicated to the destruction of the darkspawn in all of the lands. The Grey Wardens have kept watch through the ages, well aware that peace is fleeting, and that their enemy will never truly be defeated until the last of the darkspawn have been slain.
