Evolution's Academy OOC

No one really knows what is happening to the human race. Some scientists say we’re traveling down a bumpy, dirt road named Evolution. Some others have suggested that these genetic mutations are simply odd reactions to the many pollutants in the Earth’s air and water. Lets just say that there are even more scientists out there with even less respected theories concerning the most recent changes in mankind.

In the last 30 to 40 years, numerous humans have developed abilities considered to be superhuman. Not surprisingly, many scared humans began a fearful witch trial-esque search for beings with superhuman abilities. Thousands of people were killed during this time, though it was never determined how many of them, if any, had superhuman abilities. Rumors spread and people were killed without any type of evidence. Those were dark times for the human race.

Over the last 10 to 15 years though, most nations have regained control of their populations. There are still numerous anti-superhuman groups, but the majority of them are much less violent than they used to be. Some of these groups have become very secretive about their actions and are believed to still be involved in hunting mutants.

In fear of being persecuted, many mutants have gone into hiding, trying to avoid the people that wanted to harm them. Numerous super humans took an offensive stance against these humans, using their abilities to fight back. They’ve honed their skills to become deadly weapons and have even formed groups to counteract the anti- groups already in existence. This has only fueled the human fear and intolerance towards mutants.

Some super humans are worried that their counterparts will go too far. These mutants have honed their skills to help humanity, even if humanity wants to hurt them. Each mutant has their own way of combating criminals with superhuman abilities. One couple has begun a children’s home to provide a safe place for teenagers. This is what the world thinks, but in actuality, the home is a place for young mutants to learn to use and control their powers for the betterment of mankind. Here, Lorna and Drake Healey, raise teenage mutants to become humanities heroes.

Name: Kyle Pax
Age: 13
Powers: He can transfer his life force to others or absorb other peoples life force
Skills/Talents: He's a natural when it comes to psychology, and he's also a poet, and can juggle.

Personal Bio: He's nervous about using his powers, worried he'll take energy instead of give it or vice versa. He despises the mutants who try to harm people and think powers should be used only for good.

History: Kyle had a very normal life until he turned 11 and discovered his powers. He discovered his power whilehe was outside one day. He was having a picnic with his family and he noticed that a dog looked sick. He went over to the dog, as it was ignored by everyone else, including its owners, and he put his hand on the dogs belly, trying to sooth it. The dog was getting worse and moaned in pain. Kyle wanted the dog to get better very badly. And he eventually got to the point where he thought it with so much gravity, that the dog began to get better. So he thought it more and more and more and more until the dog exploded. Everyone stared at him. He ran away and eventually found the school for freaks.

Name: Roseline Maria Valentine
Age: 22
Powers: She has the ability to tap into the humans brain and make them see, think, feel, do what she wishes, but this can only be done if she touches the person for a minute straight and can only be done for a maximum of ten minutes before her affects begin to turn on her. Also if they have a strong enough mind they can will her out. She can also control her own mind through will power, but it is harder and more exhausting.
Skills/Talents: She is a very persuasive person, knowing how the human mind works. She an adapt artist and knows some martial arts.
Personal Bio: Roseline comes off as an odd person. She is nice enough, but can be very vindictive and if she doesn't like you she will let you know it through her actions. She has an almost sick sense of humor, but she keeps herself in check with the students. The staff is another story. She doesn't dislike a lot of people, but those few know how painful her bad side can be.

Generally she wants to help her students become the best they can be and hopes that they pick the right side. She knows there are others who can do what she does, perhaps different, and she helps her students build defenses against mind control and those who would enter their minds for information. She can be a hard teacher, but in the end it is for the betterment of them.

Roseline is elegant in her manners and refined in her speech, but she doesn't have a stuck up air. She knows what she's worth and no one will tell her differently. She has a soft spot for those in need and will do almost anything for her students and friends if they ask.

Roseline hates bratty kids who talk back and she hates stuck up adults who think they know everything. She dislikes bullies and will punish those people harshly. She has been known to drive someone insane, but that's only a rumor and has never been confirmed. Her students generally fear, but respect her and some of them like her a lot. She is fair, only dealing punishment when needed and rewarding those that deserve it.
History: Roseline was born in London, England to a long line of a rich family. When she was born her mother died. Her father became recluse due to it and she only saw him about ten times in her life span. It was her nurse who first experienced her power. The woman was strict in her beliefs on how a child of wealth should act. She was five and her nurse was disciplining her on a trivial matter that could have gone ignored, but due to her status it wasn't. The woman had her over her knee and was about to spank her when Roseline thought "stop" with all her mind. The nurse did and she couldn't move. Three days later she quit.

Roseline had nurse after nurse who thought they could take care of the unruly girl who now had control over people. She became slightly spoiled before her favorite and last nurse came. She was twelve and would soon be sent to a private school, but the woman came to take care of her the last three months before her departure. She was kind and gentle and never pushed anything on her. Roseline loved the woman like a mother and the woman taught her to be kind. When she got in trouble the woman never struck her, but took things away. Roseline respected her and loved her.

She went to her boarding school a new person. She was well behaved, got amazing grades, had plenty of friends and was happy for the first time in her short life. She never saw the woman again, but what she taught her stayed with her for the rest of her life. Things, of course, went wrong when her powers started growing and getting out of control. Now all she had to do was touch a person and they would become her slave for a short period of time. Finally the dean of the school she now works in stepped in after a girl lost her mind because of it. She now works full time at the school, putting people on the right path.



Name:Sasha Jasmine Clark
Age: 17
Powers: Sasha can see a persons past and two hours into their future when she touches them with her hands. When she looks at their past she can see every conversation, every thought of theirs, everything they saw, everything they felt, nothing is hidden. She has some control over how much sees and after she has touched them once she can go back to whatever memory she wants when she touches them again.
Skills/Talents: Sasha is smarter then most, simply because she has gained the information that most of her teachers have. She is also very good at singing, but is embarrassed by her voice.
Personal Bio: Sasha is a quiet, but gentle girl. She only means well, but due to her silence she is seen as odd. Sasha was born blind so she has been treated differently her entire life. She doesn't like looking at peoples thoughts and experiences, but she has no control over it. She has a kind heart and wants to help others, but she doesn't know how. Her parents took care of her with animosity so she has not ever known love.

She loves strawberries and will go to great lengths to get them. She hates loud noises and the sound of a raised voice. She also loves the feeling of snow on her skin and the feel of a warm summer breeze.
History: Sasha is an only child. Born blind her parents could never truly bring themselves to love her as they should have. She has touched enough happy children to know what they should act like and realizing her parents did not love her she became sad and has never really been able to get out of that rut, feeling she isn't good enough for love, even though she longs for it more then anything.

When she was ten a girl found out what she could do. It was her best friend and she had thought that she would accept her. Instead the girl called her a freak and told her parents who were part of the anti-mutant forces. Her house was attacked later that week and her parents were killed. She was saved by a man who she did not know nor did she ever see his face. She doesn't even know how old he was. She never touched him with her hands. He saved her and left her in front of the school that helped her kind. She has never seen him again, but she feels that he might have been as close as she could get to a first love.

She has been at the academy for seven years and sometimes helps the teachers with younger students out, but she still stays with her age group, despite her knowledge in advanced areas.

Name: Dustin (Dusty) Hodges
Age: 13
Powers: He can take on certain characteristics of animals. (Eg: Wings, a tail, but he can't completely transform) He's kind of a partial shape-shifter, and is going to this school to further develop his skills. He thinks that one day, he'll be able to completely change, but he's not entirely sure.

Skills/Talents: He's incredibly good with animals. They seem to be completely relaxed around him, and he can calm one down easily. He's currently learning to play the saxophone, and loves it. He also loves to do magic tricks for people, sort of as a hobby to entertain himself.

Personal Bio: Dusty is that kid that everyone seems to like, just because he's always so polite. His parents raised him to be respectful, and he's well behaved. He's nearly always in a good mood, and willing to help out when he's needed. Even as a young kid, Dusty is willing to listen and be the shoulder to cry on. He can be quite protective though, despite how yound he is.

Some people aske Dusty why he isn't a vegetarian because of his power, but Dusty believes in the natural order. He loves animals, but he also realizes that even animals eat other animals.

History: Dusty grew up in a loving home that knew about his abilities since he was born. It first happened when his mother was giving him a bath as a baby, and a tail sprouted from his backside. At first they were a little freaked out, but after awhile, they came to enjoy his entertainment.

When small anti-mutant groups starting appearing near their neighborhood, Dusty's parents sent him to the school in hopes of protecting him, and helping him learn more about others like himself.

Anderson is capable of summoning weapons through his sleeves (any weapons he has seen).
Though he prefers to use swords, throwing knives, and short swords, he is also capable of throwing his weapons at an inhuman distance.

Skills/Talents:
Anderson is a great swords man, his skills in throwing are basic (throw and hope to hit), he is good at break dancing, and he speaks and writes Latin, German, English and Spanish, he knows basic Fench and have a strong accent when speaking it. He knows basic martial arts, and when running, he is very fast for to he is very tall for his age and full of energy.

Personal Bio: Anderson is a lively person, kind to everyone he meets and greets them with a wide smile. Anderson is a Catholic, but not a strict one, just very dedicated to his God. Anderson can't be easily upset, but when he gets upset, he becomes insane and very unpredictable

He dislikes when people bully him for his religion and way to dress, so he usually runs away from them, locks himself into his room or the class room, trying to work out everything and keeping his anger down. He isn't very comfortable when he is near girls/women (from the age of 14 to 32), just because every girl he has asked out has turned him down and called him for a 'Freak'

History: Anderson was born in Scotland, lived there for 7 years and then his family moved to Germany for 2 years, then Italy for 4 years, then he lived in Spain for the next 1 years, then Belgium for 6 months, Poland for 1.5 years and then finally Switzerland for 6 months and then his parents sent him to the Evolution's Academy, in hope that he will be happier there, and learn to control his powers.

The reason for the constant moving was at first because of Anderson's dad's work, but then when he began to get his powers at the age of 13 tip offs, and it has resulted in many kids being sent to the hospital.

Name: Jack Thomas
Age: 17
Powers: Able to heyper accelrate the growth of bone, tendon and marrow, creating it into any shape he wishes, though the rapid use of calcium means he has to be careful about using it. Usually carries capsules of calcium to replenish his stores. They also manifest bones that outline his eyes and jut out from his elbows, along with guantlent like bones.
Skills/Talents: Has a love for cooking, making something as simple as a cheeseburger to cooking an entire turkey, depending on what is available.
Personal Bio: Jack is a pretty laidback guy, taking things in stride as they come and worrying about little. His only real annoyance is when people stare at the bones sticking out of him. He understands that it might look a little weird, but it gets old after awhile. Also hates milk, making it hard to build up his calcium stores.
History: When his powers manifested themselves at the age of 7, he had little control over it and it was soon that dephorming bones jutted out all over his body, contorting his body in horrendous ways. After weeks spent in the hospital, in constant pain from the continuos growth sawing off of the extra bone, his parents were met by one of the staff from the home, explaining to them what was happening to him and told them that the home could possibly teach him how to control the ability if it was possible. They agreed to allow him to go ther to learn to control his powers.

man, I can't wait for the IC to begin. I'm already planning how my character will get bullied by other students.
