[seems like this might be fun. Let's do it!
character sheet:
name: Thayla Woodsinger
Age: 16.
Race: Fairy.
Description: Thayla is a short humanoid with a pair of angelic wings on her back. Her long, pale-blond hair streams from her head usually in a braid until the small of her back. Her face is slightly oval, but mostly round, emphasized by her smoky gray eyes that swirl almost mystically and are unreadable. Her nose is small and well-formed, thoug her mouth is not accentuated by full lips, though rosy-pink and perfectly matched to her face. her body is thin and frail-looking, and accentuated by comparatively large breasts, though she has little in the matter of defining curves elsewhere. her diminutive stature tops off at 1.6 meters, since she is always slightly flapping her wings when awake and floating about 20 centimeters from the ground, (actual height: 1.4 meters) But when excited and happy, reaches anywhere from 2 meters to the ceiling as the involuntary beat of her wings increases in pace. Her clothes are always the same, as she wears a turquoise-set silver pin to hold her braid, pink blouse and skirt, and aqua schoolgirl small heeled shoes. When she's not at least hovering (rarely) the shoes give her an apparent height of 1.45 meters, though that's more because of the way she carries herself than through the height of the heels.
Personality: Thayla is cheerful and carefree. she's got a happy attitude and is always there with words of encouragement and support. The only way to make her somber and sad is to make her think of her distant past (10 years of age or less) which usually deflates her. she is always happy to help, but is also responsible: when helping, she always reminds her helpee that whatever he does, it's his responsibility alone; she offers advice but ultimately, whatever actions people are carrying are their own, and she is annoyingly good at reminding people of that. she is by nature a good person and will not bring harm unless there is no other option.
The story of her life: Thayla was born to lower-class parents who, although they tried to support her, quickly abandoned her as she proved too much of a chore and provided nothing in return. lost to the streets, she was quickly abducted by a man who kept her and, though he gave her the means to continue living, raped her daily. She retreated into a fantasy world where faeries and other loving creatures were her guides and friends. Ultimately, when she turned ten years of age, the powers of the mind began to manifest on Thayla. The first thing that happened was that Thayla created the Shade Serena, a tiny faerie (fits comfortably inside her hands) whose original purpose was to rescue her from her life. Serena's powers of healing (physical and emotional) and her compassionate heart made it possible for her to rescue Thayla as she lay dying from the injuries her latest series of rapes had caused her and strengthen her resolve to escape. Thayla did so, managing to hitchhike all the way to new york, where she eked out a living in the streets with Serena's help. Serena's compassionate nature and evident love for the girl she viewed as a mixture of daughter and sister kept her with Thayla long after her purpose was fulfilled. Thayla's powers grew and so did her fantasy world, until the point she envisioned herself as a fairy and eventually her powers turned her into one. As a true faerie, however, she found that Serena, though a truly fantastic being, thought that she needed help no longer and they parted, though with the promise of friendship always there. They still correspond, of course, but the bond that once existed has dimmed. Thayla still manifests the powers of the mind, but with a subtle control she couldn't as a human, and has her fae powers as well. Eventually captured and imprisoned in a concentration camp due to an unlucky encounter with a SWAT team handling a terrorist threat, but does not complain about her status.
Creations of the mind:
Serena: A free Shade now currently in New York. Cares for orphaned children and corresponds with Thayla. Was once a combination sister/mother, but now, is a true friend to the imprisoned Thayla.
Her own body: Thayla turned herself into a faerie.
Lokhan the wolf: a Shade created by a dreaming Thayla after fantasising about mystical wolves thanks to a series of RPG games that ingrained themselves in her mind. Strangely enough, he was created with a purpose of companionship and can imitate human speech, though his language is coarse and his regard for grammar an imposition by Thayla, to whose will he usually grudgingly submits. Sleek silver coat, he is a protector and friend of Thayla, whom she values as much as any human and perhaps just a tiny bit more than many humans. He is fiercely protective but, though not very sociable, is not aggressive at first. Best left alone when Thayla is not around, however.
Fae powers:
Healing: Thayla can perform great feats of physical healing, up to and including ressurecting the recently-dead (by recently, 20 seconds tops, and death must have been through an unnatural cause, never old age). However, the larger the feat of healing, the more it drains her, until she is too weakened to do more without rest. She can also soothe emotions and heal troubled minds.
Empathy: Thayla's empathy is a double-edged knife. She can focus on peoples' emotions and correlate to them, feel them as her own and learn how to soothe them without her fae powers. However, when feeling unusually strong emotions, good or bad, those around her are affected by it and respond accordingly. A crying Thayla usually has a saddening effect on those around herself, while a laughing one is inductive of mirth as well.
Virtue: Not virtue as in virginity (way too late for that) but as an actual force. Could be caled Holy, Light, or Good, but she calls it Virtue. She can focus her power into blasts of energy as well as soothing light. She is also permanently bathed in an illuminating aura of Virtue that makes her a peaceful sight at all times.
Done! Whew. i'll edit this and add my first post soon. Bit busy right now ._.]
Thayla laughed happily as Lokhan held her in his jaws, giggling even as she said. "Release me, Lokhan."
"No, Thayla." His growled words spat around her even as he held her firmly. "you nearly demolished that chapel."
"It's not my fault that boy imagined a big huge green monster after i healed him from his sickness. You'd rather i left the kid to die?"
"i'd rather you tried to heal him emotionally before physically, seen as you have the gift. Now i need to carry you away from there before the kid's parents kicked your arse into tomorrowland."
"We're already far enough away. Can i go, please?" Thayla wriggled in Lokhan's grasp and finally released herself. Lokhan looked at her with a dangerous glint in his eyes. Thayla shook her head playfully, but her voice was commanding. "Down, Lokhan."
"Yes, Thayla." Lokhan answered, his eyes immediately losing their hard glint and his demeanor becoming more docile. The wolf stretched down and lay on the ground, clearly spent.
"Rest a bit, Lokhan, while i take a look around. I've been wanting to visit the Natural History Museum anyway, but they probably wouldn't let you in. I'll be back in a few hours." Thayla beat her wings a bit faster and floated up until the top of her head was about three meters from the ground.
"Take care, Thayla." Lokhan said, before wagging his tail a couple of times and closing his eyes. Soon the silver wolf was asleep.
As Thayla flew around, she suddenly spotted a running person. Running? Glimpsing behind said person, she saw a blue tyranossauros rex! What? Well, the person was approaching fast, and she soon recognized Kevin Baker. The human stopped short when he saw her.
"Kevin! What's happening here?" She cried, even as his emotions flooded her. Fear was predominant. What could she do?
