Help finding WEP key...

Okay, so I'm trying to find a WEP key on my Dell Inspiron in order to connect to the internet on my DS Lite. Problem is, I don't know where the WEP key can be found, I've been told to call costumer service, but I would like to see if I can find it on my computer. I also have no idea what a WEP key is in the first place. It would be great if someone could tell me an easy way to get it, if not, I'm open for difficult ways as well.

A WEP key is the encryption on a computer Network, also commonly called a password. Just try your home networks password.

I'm not quite sure, it's some type of router we use. It gives my Wii the internet. I'm trying to see if it will work for my PSP and such.

What sort of make is your router?


If you known that you can go to the router's IP address, it'll ask for a password, but this is generally just 'admin' and 'password' and then it'll display your WEP under 'wireless settings' I believe. YOu should be able to look up the default IP addresses pretty easily by searching the make and 'default IP'.

I had the same troubles when a friend came over and tried to get onto my private network with her laptop. Contact who your router is with and explain to them that you don't have the password to access your wireless connection and they should be able to do it overthe phone or on the computer. They'll stay there with you, so you don't get lost along the way.

...Yes, this is much more confusing than it needs be, but this is the internet.
