History, Details, etc

Any and all information pertaining to the RP will go here. Posts will come as needed, and will include things such as: The history of Purplexia, the political/military system, important characters, or whatever else may need explanation to better help everyone understand the events occurring.

Just so you all know -- This is the Armor set to the Knights of Purplexia


The basic military personnel wear plain steel armor as depicted above, but include also either a triangular or rectangular shield, depending on their role in combat (offensive versus defensive position). Officers are as follows --
Generals - Wear purple capes over both shoulders with gold embroidery, as well as other distinguishing marks over their armor
Captains - Wear purple capes over both shoulders, no distinguishing marks.
Sergeants - Wear short capes that only cover one shoulder, no distinguishing marks.

The Royal Guardsmen - Their armor is painted white, with gold patterns emblazoned over the edges, usually styled as vines or fire. They wear purple cloaks (meaning that they have sleeves and hoods) embroidered in gold designs. They are the best trained, and usually do not feature shields.

As long as we have this forum set up, I think it would be a good time to address the one of the two lands mentioned thus far. Tonate, homeland of the prestigious Captain Rubber Fruit

Tonate: Tonate was originally a group of inhospitable islands Southeast of Noruc, this was due to the dangerous animals that inhabited the island and the debilitating diseases they carried. But due to issues of the Norucian Government infringing on the lower classes' rights, they were impounded on the island as prisoners. It was at this time that they decided they would inhabit the island, as opposed to leaving it behind to exact their revenge. They were originally imprisoned on the largest island, Tonate. This is what the group of islands was named after. It is the largest of the four major islands, but is still dwarfed by the continent of Noruc. After some time passed, became time to create a governing system.

One group wanted to stick to its Norucian roots, creating a Tonation dynasty of the Rebellion Leaders and later, their children. A castle would be built, and when they were ready, they would take Noruc by storm.

However, a legion of persistent rebels wanted a Council to be created. It would govern the people, and be the first of its kind. They would slowly build up their navy, focusing more on the well-being of the people, rather than seeking revenge.

But because of these differences, there was a split in the population. The Tonations who wanted to build up a Kingdom sailed off into the distance. It was later concluded that they sailed to Tonate's smaller sister island, Reeve. (Reeve is not connected to the main island of Tonate, but is still considered to be in the Tonate Region)

With the peace returned, the Tonation population (heh heh, rhyming is fun) quickly went to work on uniting the islands, by building vast wooden docks, on which living spaces and commons were built. The island's deadly creatures were soon dying out, due to the lack of habitat they were used to, and while some still died from the disease they carried (which is now affectionately called Tonation Virus, which blinds you, and causes extreme paranoia) they noticed that they were developing an immunity to it, due to the consumption of the plants on the island. It was later discovered that the plant that gifted them with the immunity also strengthened their immune system, repelling weak poisons and other common diseases, usually carried by rats or insects.

Unbeknownst to its neighboring countries, Tonate was quickly becoming a hotspot for trade, and developing a fierce navy. Soon enough, ships carrying gold were clamoring with their resources.*

With the creation of the Council underway, and a steady source of gold flowing, the Tonations were content with their creation. They overcame all the odds, and were able to sustain life. They made most of their money from selling tools, fishing, or working for the government.

But, the question still stood, what exactly WAS the government? It was a collection of corrupted politicians, twisting the people for their own devilish needs. While at the beginning, it was called the Tonation Council, it quickly became known as the Pirate Guild. Now, many black-sailed ships would dock at the harbors, secretly being supplied with black-powder and free drink. It quickly became a pirate's paradise, and the Pirate's Guild soon became intertwined with the community.

Now, one may expect the population to be shocked, but after evaluating what the Pirate's Guild had done for them, no one really cared. They extinguished the threat of pirates, and were always rewarded with a cut of any pirate's loot. It was a good gig, so they kept it the way it was.

*Tonate's natural resources are wood, wool, fish, wine, and pelts.
