Hunting Party

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby XavierDantius32 on Sun May 22, 2011 7:19 pm

Hunting Party

The year is 3982 Terran Calender. With the spread of humanity across the stars, the eccentricities of the rich and powerful have grown to truly ridiculous proportions.

One such man is Sire Elroy Von Hautsch, a man who claims to be able to trace his ancestry back to the German Kaiser of 1914. He made his fortune from the production of massive orbitsl hydrogen refineries, which brought him billions of credits. With this money, he somehow managed to finance the purchase of a small moon, naming it Artemis, after the Greek Goddess of the Hunt.

Artemis hangs effortlessly above the great expanse of Beta Hydri, a gas giant, its surface rippling with the milky blue of a hydrogen and helium atmosphere. Artemis could be considered a paradise, a mix of azure seas, teaming with fish and wildlife, to deep unspoiled jungle, covered with claustrophobic trees and vines. To Sire Elroy, it was a hunter's paradise.

However, Elroy, and his business associates, had more exotic tastes when it came to game. Because of the vast numbers of humans spread across the milky way, some would slip through the cracks. These people were picked up by Elroy's associates, and used for game in “Hunting Parties” across the surface of Artemis

In recent years, Elroy has branched out, taking members of other alien races, and mixing it with his usual cocktail of human degenerates. His latest hunt across the moon begins today. The large cargo containers full of prisoners are being dumped at random across the island. The Hunters are selecting weapons, ammunition and supplies, ready to indulge in the violent pleasure of hunting another creature in the wilderness.

You, and the other members of your group, awake on the largest continent, named Lupine. The hunt begins in an hour. You can either stay together, and turn the hunters into prey, or you can run like rats, to be trapped and gunned down.

In the cargo crate you awoke in, a T.V screen was playing this message on a loop.

Welcome, Hunted
I am Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt.
You are on my world. You are part of the game. Welcome.
The island you stand upon is called Veritas. It is approximately 800 kilometers square, and covered almost entirely by thick jungle. The jungle is a hostile place, ladies and gentlemen. Like the amazon rain forest on Terra, it is literally teaming with wildlife. Not all of it will be friendly.

One choice example of an unfriendly animal, is Arachnid Horriblis. An unimaginative name, but highly appropriate. Arachnid Horriblis is over two feet in diameter, with eight, powerful legs. It waits in the low foliage, dangling a tripwire of silken thread beneath its perch. Once an unsuspecting victim snags the thread, it falls like an autumn leaf, landing on its target, and burying inch long fangs in its neck.

I hear death is instantaneous.

The fauna should not be your only concern. This jungle is home to a group of truly awesome predators. Homo Sapiens Sapiens. The first Terran animal to use tools. The first to hunt for sport over necessity. These men have more than rocks and sticks. They have paid a vast sum to hunt my territory. You are the prey. Feel free to run, or to hide. You won't escape. This hunt lasts till each one of you is dead.

There is, however, a chance of escape. Kill the hunters. Turn the tables on them. Hunt them. Some of you are more equipped for it than others. Nature has blessed you, and may bless you again before this is over.

Alas, Ladies and Gentlemen, I am rambling. On the floor under this screen, there is a basic map of the killing ground. This is all the help you get. I leave you with one piece of advice. Die well.

And now, the slightly less interesting part.

You may play either: Hunters or Prey.
The role you choose affects how you participate. Firstly, the antagonists of our little game.
The Hunters:
You are all humans. Born with a silver spoon in your mouth. Privileged from the first breath you took, you have never wanted for anything. Most of you have frittered away money like it was going out of fashion. Unlike most rich people in this day and age, you have a passion for hunting. The thrill of the chase. In a normal, properly regulated society, you would be hunting deer or boar in the backwoods.

Instead, you found Sire Elroy. He related his “enterprise” to you, showed you tapes of previous hunts. It seemed like good sport to all of you, and you happily signed up.

Character Skeleton
Name: (Simple, your character's full name.)
Race: Human
True Age: (Space travel still relies on cryo-stasis, and as such, many of those who travel a good deal are older than they appear. This is their true age...)
Apparent Age: (... and how old mother nature thinks them to be.)
Gender: (Simple, really, that is if it applies to the character's species.)
Eye/Hair Color:
Skills: (What can your character do well?)
Occupation: (What does your character do for cash? Can be anything, really, as long as it consumes time and energy and produces money.)

Physical Description:
Height: (Simple.)
Weight: (Same as above.)
Physical Build: (Anything could be used here, from a single adjective to a paragraph, your choice.)
Hairstyle: (Anything)
Hair Length: (Again.)
Discerning Facial Hair: (Anything you want)
Discerning Scars or Physical Deformities: (Anything goes.)
Discerning Tattoos: (Same as above.)

Melee Weapons: (Again, Anything you want, but keep it resonable)
Extra Equipment:(Trap/Poison making gear, small amount of explosives etc)

Biography: (Brief history of your character's life to this point. I want more than two paragraphs, but not War and Peace. Shouldn't really be longer than fifteen paragraphs.)
Persona: (A description of your character's personality, the way they think, how they act, what they believe in, how the believe, etc. Again, not War and Peace.)

The Prey
You come from a myriad of races, from across the milky way. Some of you may deserve to be hunted, criminals, degenerates, the scum of the earth. Others may be innocent. Free Traders captured by pirates, civilians snatched from homes and city streets. A few of you may be capable of defending yourself, but only a few. It would be a lesser man than Sire Elroy who put twelve ex mercenaries in his party.
(OOC: You can be any race you choose, be creative, come up with your own. However, for those of you who are less creative, I shall provide a few examples for you)
Vatakuec (2 Players Maximum)
Average height: 6'7
Average weight: 210lbs
Defining features: The Vatakuec are a race of bipedal lizards, with broad, powerful shoulders and backs, a hunched, aggressive gait, and thick, reverse-jointed legs, perfect for long-distance sprinting. Their skin hangs off them like a loose fitting coverall, sagging at the joints and neck, the sandy coloured scales becoming the perfect camouflage for the desert that they inhabit. Their heads are flat and featureless, with two slitted nostrils and deep purple eyes. Forked tongues dart from in between the two rows of razor-sharp fangs, giving their every word a malignant hiss. One of the most deadly weapons in the Vatakuec's arsenal aside from the teeth and claws is their saliva. Every drop is loaded with a myriad of deadly bacteria, meaning that every bite would lead to septicaemia and gangrene.
Lifespan: 120 Terran years
Haryn (1 Player Maximum)
Average height: 7'3
Average weight: 190lbs
Defining features: A race of khaki skinned avian creatures that evolved in a harsh jungle environment. The Haryn are all tall and wiry with hooked beaks and a forest of quills decorating the back of their narrow skulls. Their eyes are sharp and dagger-like, giving them excellent vision in all situations. The Haryn are highly dextrous and capable of great agility. The Haryn's backward jointed legs allow them to run faster than the average human. One of the more discusting traits of the Haryn is that they openly feed on the flesh of the dead. This does allow them to gain information from the genetics of their meal.
Average lifespan: 150 terran years

Tiresians
Average height: 8'2
Average weight: 180lbs
Defining features: A tall and slim species with sickly blue skin. Decorating their extended necks like a trio of parallel knife wounds are gills, a remnant of their underwater life before they evolved the ability to survive above ground. Tiresians are abnormally tall and thin boned, but wiry muscle coats their frame.
Lifespan: 180 terran years

Name: (Simple, your character's full name.)
Race: (Preferably list the species, then ethnic race, if applicable.)

Physical Description:
Height: (Simple, respective to race.)
Weight: (Same as above.)
Physical Build: (Anything could be used here, from a single adjective to a paragraph, your choice.)
Hairstyle: (Anything)

Discerning Facial Hair: (Anything you want)
Discerning Scars or Physical Deformities: (Anything goes.)
Discerning Tattoos: (Same as above.)
