The time is 1557 France and there is many a conflict in the European monarchies. Scotland needs an alliance with France in order to survive, but the French appear to be dragging their feet, keeping Scotland in the wings until their needed. England's queen is dying and there are several countries interested in taking over to country for themselves. Mary Stuart, queen of Scotland, has ties to all of these countries, and incidentally, she holds the key to the fate of Europe. She is being wed to the dauphin Prince of France in order to solidify the alliance, but when she arrives at Court, it's not only the prince she has her eyes on. Not only does she love the prince, but it seems she has fallen in love with the wild and loyal illegitimate brother. One claims to be the best for both her and her country, while the other vows to always put her first no matter what. Whom shall she choose? Will her ladies be able to help her?
