Re: King of Fighters '09: Gearblade vs. Amatlamittha

The victor of this short duel is Amatlamittha. Since I have very little actual duel to base my decision off of, this is mostly due to Amatlamittha's more engaging writing and strong description.

Re: Alias vs Pseudosyne (ELP Duel)

The boy was bawling, jets of salty water flying out of his eyes like a lawn sprinkler. Grandpa Wilson smirked. Honestly, it served Burty right. The kid had always been a pain, even from his diaper days. There was a comic strip character that Grandpa Wilson felt captured Burty perfectly: Dennis the M...

Re: Count to 50 before a 'Global Mod'

We should give them false hope. Let them get up into the 40s and then crush them swiftly with an effortless post. The entire way, they'll know that their efforts are futile and that's just how we want them to feel. You fools will never prevail.

Re: Grade Level

I believe it's because the grade level function doesn't immediately calculate the grade level of the post, and so it gives a default value of 0 until it completes. It may also only calculate once the post is rated. I'm more certain about the first explanation, though.

For Mentors: On Roleplaying Instruction

This was an article I wrote about a year ago about my ideas on roleplaying instruction. I hope all mentors can benefit from this, and I welcome any and all discussion/comments/improvements on it. Many of the site references you see are from my old site, RPG Forums Online. I love to teach. I find it ...

Re: On Creating Unique Characters

While the sharing of ideas here is good, it's bordering on argument and this isn't the Debate forum. Let's keep the veiled personal attacks out of this and continue the discussion as civilly as possible.

Re: Dueling: What You're Missing!

Something worthwhile to mention/clarify is that these dueling formats were not created for use with a recurring, premade character. Rather, the character is created in the initial post and it goes from there. Alias and I aren't used to using a recurring character in our duels, so we devised these st...

Re: A&P's Mentoring Services

I actually have very little to add to Alias's comments; what he said is basically what I was thinking as I read your initial character and what you've changed it to. If you have any further questions on it or would just like to discuss it some more (since you said you like to bounce ideas back and f...

Re: Alias vs Pseudosyne (ELP Duel)

Grandpa Wilson's reaction time had ascended into the double digits in his advanced age, and as such, he didn't even manage to turn his head until the woodchips clattered uselessly against his midsection. Rather, that was how any casual onlooker would have assessed the situation, but to Grandpa Wilso...

Re: King of Fighters '09: AngelusMarsume vs LovesVampireAngel

Though I'm sorry that this fight could not have gone to completion, I've judged as per Law's request. This fight's victor is LovesVampireAngel . I wish I could give some legitimate reasons for my judgment, but with only one post from each, I had very little to work with. Angelus god...

Re: Steel Panthers --- A Nation RP

Keep it civil in here or a GM will lock it and/or start editing posts (the editing's likely to happen anyway). This is an RP. There's no need to start going off on everyone. If you need to yell, do it through PM.

Re: Alias vs Pseudosyne (ELP Duel)

"Burty! BURTY! Get in here!" came the muffled shout from the bowels of the house. "Burty, you stupid kid! Your mother's calling you!" It was practically a snarl, a voice roughened by years of tobacco smoke and irritated grumbling. The owner of the voice took the basements steps h...

Re: A&P's Mentoring Services

Hi, Pioneer. I'll give you my response and Alias will also offer his thoughts if he has anything to add. If by "flashy" you're simply referring to your use of graphics, I would say you don't need to worry about it all. People love to see some kind of interesting visual in an RP introductio...

Re: Hi to you!

Hey Unspeakable. So, a quick rundown of what's what and where's who. The forums themselves are fairly self-explanatory. You have your Discussion forum for debate and such, Main Lobby for almost anything, Out of Character for your RP OOCs, interest checks, or signups, and your IC forums for the RPs t...

Re: Family Guy Scene It

That would have to be Roman Holiday. This next one isn't a real movie, but still:

Man: You want him back? You can't just appear again and say you want him back! You can't have him! *knocks a glass off the table*
Robot: *shoots the man in the face*
