(so sorry for the delay! I've been busy lately.)

As Moira wished them both the best in the department of romance, Ridahne's head lay elsewhere. Where would they be had she not decided to give her kaijahn, a piece of her soul, to her twin brother? She would have been in the smithy (Ridahne was more inclined to play with fire than she ever was dolls like other girls) working on some new project...a sword, perhaps? Retaio likely would have been away on an escort-mission, or on duty at the city square...maybe when he was free, he'd be sitting at a large table in front of a magnificent feast in celebration of midsummer. Oh! The midsummer festivals! Ridahne knew them only as Lujai-Da and could only describe them as such since her common speech was rusty at times. They were her favorite time of year, second only to the first snow (and only the first; after that Ridahne grew weary of trudging through piles of snowdrifts). She remembered her parents taking her and Retaio, remembered sitting up on their shoulders to see the yio go spiraling up into the air with a great bang that resonated in her chest and sent tiny sparks like fireflies down so close to the people's heads, the young girl feared someone would catch fire. There was always music and dancing and the most wonderful food and drink. Ridahne tried not to sigh; they probably just missed it.
"We don't keep to ourselves, really," she said finally. "We strike up conversation wherever we go and rarely eat a meal alone unless it's in the wilderness. Besides, we have eachother." That was true, but it wasn't quite the same when only one person could talk...

Moira apologized, shedding a little pity on their situation, and this made Ridahne's head snap up in confusion. "Sorry?" she said with a smile. "Nay, you need not be. Our experience has been...interesting, but not a tradgedy. Not everything unexpected has to be unfortunate. So we've had to leave home." she shrugged. "I've always wanted to see the world, and here we are!" She laughed softly.

Just as Moira presented the offer for more food and an extended stay, Ridahne was about to decline them both politely (she liked Moira's company, but they had much ground to cover) when suddenly the whinny of a horse outside drew the blonde's attention to the window. In a second, she threw herself on the floor, leaving Retaio fluttering to regain his balance. "Tai! It's them!!" The woman swore--something that seemed out of place just by looking at her. Crawling practically on her belly, Ridahne turned and whispered quietly to Moira, "I sure hope you've got a back door. If i know anything about them, they'll come busting through here without permission....d---! I didn't think they'd find us here! They must have asked around...."

(it's alright ^_^ also... would you rather i ran it by you before i settled on Moira's race? or should i just jump into it and hope for the best. im sort of torn between 2 ideas at the moment, though leaning more towards one rather then the other. )

Moira yelped when Ridahne through herself on the floor. she sighed realizing her time with the twins was probably coming to an end. "its just around the corner" she pointed to her back door. "there's a porch, but it's not a far jump to the ground below. you can take my horse if you need. i can always get another one." she sighed again. "it's sad you have to leave so soon."
Moira went to her front door and pulled it open, wondering who they could possibly be running from. she supposed she should have acted more surprised, but it wasn't in her nature. she herself could be rather shocking, though she felt she hid it well. she pulled the door open and leaned against the door frame, her eyes getting slightly darker and more like a metal plate.
"EY! don't you know its rather rude to make that kind of noise this early in the morning!!" Moira called out to the rider. "come back later this afternoon!"
as she shouted out her door other women started opening their doors and agreeing with her. "yeah quiet down!" one older woman, sporting a young child on her left hip yelled. "My husband is asleep! you know how late he works?" another woman next door to Moira called. all in all it was a rather close knit neighborhood, albeit small. "get out of here!" Moira called again. she crossed her arms over her chest and huffed. "no respect i swear." she rolled her eyes. in truth she was trying to cause a distraction. she wasn't sure what she was getting herself into, but she had gotten this far into it, she might as well go all the way. "and shut your horse up while your at it!" she added.
the other people now leaning out of their doors all cheered in agreement. Moira was easily the most loud of her neighbors, and she liked it that way. if there was any trouble in any of these houses everyone knew. Moira smirked waiting for the retaliations he was sure she would get. if these people had the intention of knocking her door down she was sure they would try to get through her as well.

(surprise me ;D)

Ridahne laughed, though it was somewhat distracted. "Horses? I've never ridden in my life! Izah!" Though the word was foreign, it sounded a good deal like a curse. "Why did we have to switch last night, Retaio!?" Ridahne crawled towards the back of the house until she heard Moira open the door. "Moira! Moira, no! They're soldiers, they'll tear you apart! Don't--" but it was too late. She opened the door and started yelling at the Haurim-Ritun-Sol, or 'messengers from the army of the sun', as they were known by those who spoke the common speech, to keep quiet. Soon the whole neighborhood was doing the same, making Ridahne cringe. To disrespect them was to flirt with death. But what could she do? If she tried to stop her, Eidahn would find her and her brother and she didn't want to know what would happen, then. Silently, she slipped out to find the horse. Maybe she could ride if it was her only option...

The horsemen were the stuff of legends; tall, broad shouldered, and with lavishly decorated helms that sported a mane of horsehair and an ornate sun crafted in gold on the forehead. One of the rays extended further than the rest, serving as a nose-guard that stretched just over the bridge of the nose. similar looking, smaller suns decorated the saddles and tack worn by their horses--large and muscled creatures well-accustomed to war. Seeing Moira and the rest of the neighborhood, the leader of the six riders barked commands in a foreign language with a dialect recognizeable even to a stranger as the same one spoken by Retaio and Ridahne. Immediately, the men fanned out, some of them entering forcefully into people's homes with the tip of a well-sharpened blade as a very real threat to those who resisted. Unlike pirates or bandits, they did not rifle through their possessions for valuable items. Instead, they pointedly left these things alone and focused more on other, smaller details. Others searched the outside of homes in the forms of their kaijahn. One in particular, a hound, inspected the outside of Moira's home. In seconds, he shifted back. "Eidahn!"
The frontman, still mounted on his chestnut horse, turned his attention to the dark haired woman in the doorway before slowly and smoothly dismounting and closing the gap between them. Eidahn towered over Moira and his deep, burnt-orange eyes stared intensely down at her. "The falcon and falconer," he said simply. "Where are they?"

((alright i can do that))

Moira chewed her lip. the large man towering over her reminded her of something. [i]bullies....[/i she thought to herself. they reminded her of the old Bullies she used to have to face. she leaned against her door frame hiding all fear she might have. her heart was beating faster then it ever should, and she hoped that these soldiers weren't trained to hear heart beats. she could hide her fear better then most people, if you couldn't hear or feel her heart.
"i don't know what your talking about." she said with obvious disdain for the man in her voice. she was positive it wasn't the best idea to speak so informally to the soldier, but perhaps if she made him mad at her, Ridahne and Retaio could further away. "there hasn't been a falcon in these parts for years." she moved her hand like she was bored. "with or without a falconer." she rested her hand on her hip and gave the soldier a bored expression. "you should have your dogs nose checked. clearly he isn't smelling things properly."
she traced her eyes over the other soldiers. "your a bunch of brutes." she huffed. "you would probably get a lot further with some manners." as she spoke her voice softened, however a ring of red rose around her pupils. "you should leave." Moira chewed the inside of her lip. it wasn't in her best interest to lose control of herself, however she might have too. she could already feel her tension building, something she had learned to control.
Moira closed her door so the soldier couldn't see inside her home. "you should leave now." her voice was becoming softer, yet somehow sharper, bordering more violent. "i think its in your best interest." she growled quietly. she was small compared to the soldier, and she looked fairly weak in comparison, but she had her hidden strength.

Eidahn's face held in a steady, stony expression; unmoving, unblinking. His fall-orange eyes bored into Moira's like hot coals the way a wolf locks his eyes onto his prey in mid-stalk and there didn't seem to be anything that would make him move, save his quarry. This girl was lying. In fact, Eidan, beyond a shadow of a doubt, knew the pair had at least come through here. They'd been tracking them, hot on their trail, for three days now and already he found a witness who confirmed Retaio and the bird-Ridahne had come through just the night before. Eidan might have thought the two would have left by now had the woman standing in the doorway not lied to his face.
Moira shut the door, leaving Eidahn on the doorstep in silence. His men drew towards him, waiting for a signal or command. Without much prompting, two soldiers crept away, both in the form of a sleek black panther, their paws barely making noise as they padded along the hard-packed ground beneath them and made their way around back.
"This is a mistake, woman," he told her, his tone dangerous. "I know you're lying. Bring me Retaio and Ridahne and you'll be forgiven."

((sorry it's so short, like i said i'm having a hard time with this set of characters (they're brand new) but i thought i'd try and keep the story alive still ;D))

Moira rolled her eyes. she pulled the door open just long enough to shake her head at the soldier. "no." she said simply before shutting the door again. she walked to the back and looked around for Ridahne. she couldn't see her or the falcon and assumed they got away. "good..." she whispered. her eyes were still burning a red color. "bastards..." she mumbled.
she ran her hand through her hair and smiled lightly, her teeth oddly pointed. she felt the sun on her skin and smiled. "warm day." she shrugged and went back inside. she was expecting the soldiers to tear her house apart, and she didn't care. as long as they didn't find the others.

(sorry also short. >.<)
