Hello, I just started on this website today. I have figured it out mostly but, some things are stumping me. I love harry potter , and really any other type of role play I can get into. I am semi - literate to literate. I am very easy to get along with and if you would like to role play with me please PM me or post on here :).

Heya thedjismine! :) I'd like to be the first to welcome you to RPG and if you have any specific questions always feel free to ask. We're a helpful community and will be happy to answer anything you might throw our way. That being said, I am going to give you some links that may help you out on the site. The RPG User Manual will give you some basic info on the site and how to use it and the Rules are short, sweet and to the point.

As far as a generalized post where you're looking for someone to roleplay with you can add a post to the Interest Checks thread. That's a topic where people don't have a specific roleplay set up yet but want to find people with similar interests. Also, for your Harry Potter roleplay you could post something in the Roleplayers Wanted thread about that one since it is a roleplay that has already been established and is looking for more players!

Ok! Thanks. I have it set up to notify me when a some one replys to my thing but, I don't know where it notifies me at because it's not in my PM's

It might notify you via the email you set yourself up with in the beginning. :D I know a lot of forum-based subscription notifications appear that way so perhaps check your email?! I have honestly never set up notifications but I think that is what happens!

If you subscribe to a thread it will tell you via email and if you bookmark it, it will show up on a consolidated page for you. I bookmark everything and actually have my homepage set to this link so it shows all of my threads that have had responses to them by flagging the icon next to the topic as pink/red!

There's a setting in your UCP (User Control Panel) that allows you to receive email notifications on things like private messages, topic replies, or when a Moderator deals with a report that you've made. I've got my filters and such tweaked how I like them, but be warned if you go this route! It will flood out any self-respecting inbox within a matter of days, so making sure you have a separate RolePlayGateway email account may actually be viable. That's one thing I quickly learned. (:
