"Unfortunately, we have to wait before we can decide our next move. Until we know how Kat's negotiations went, there's really not much we can do at the moment." Blaze said as she sat nearby nibbling on a cracker with a thoughtful look on her face.
"Oh by the way, I never introduced myself. I'm Blaze and the twins over there at the computer are D and Jake." She said as she named off everyone that hadn't been named yet. She was pretty sure that the escape attempt hadn't given them much time for introductions, so she went ahead and got that out of the way before anything else.

However, that conversation was probably cut short when a soft moan escaped Esha just before her eyes slowly slid open. She still felt dazed and rather weak from how much of that sedative had been used on her, and from the way she felt now it had to have been a much stronger variety then the one she was familiar with.
"Damn I HATE that stuff!" She thought to herself as she rubbed her eyes with her hand in an attempt to make herself wake up more while ignoring how sore she felt from being dragged around by those agents. Although all that helped to do was clear her vision more, but at least she could make out where she was and there were two things she noticed. One she didn't not recognize the room at all, but once she saw Brad that kept her from panicking for the time being.
"Okay what happened...........last thing I remember is getting caught by those agents." She asked in a somewhat weaker tone of voice then normal, but at least that was just from being out as long as she was and not something worse.

Brad put his hand under her neck and helped her up to a leaning position on one elbow. "are you alright?" he asked a true look of concern on his face. he held a cup of water to her lips allowing her to take small sips and also wetting her chapped lips but for the time being withheld giving her any food, and although he knew she would be hungry he didn't think she would be able to hold it down so soon after waking up from being sedated.

He ran his hand through her hair pulling back loose strands of hair and tucking them behind her ear. he looked at the three in turn then said " you probably already know, but i'm Brad and this is Esha. we appreciate you puting yourself on the line like this for us." then he turned his attention back to Esha, running his hand across her cheek softly.

"I'm okay I think.......I'm just really tired is all." Esha said as she laid her head against Brad's shoulder. Whatever kind of sedative they used on her it was much stronger then anything she'd been hit with before, but at least it was slowly starting to wear off. Although she could honestly say she hoped she never had to get injected with that mess again, the weaker stuff was bad enough already.

"Hey don't worry about it, none of us wanted to see the Division end up using you two more then they already had. Not only that but I think Kat's grown a little attached to the two of you, don't tell her I said that because it's rare she'll admit she likes anyone. Excluding us and even that's not common." Blaze said with a slight smirk. Having been partners with Kat the longest it wasn't to difficult for her to see how protective Kat was over both Esha and Brad. Not in the romantic sense though, just kind of like she viewed them as part of this rather mismatched family the group had made.

Brad caressed Esha softly kissing her forhead greatful that she was ok. he let his thoughts drift to visions of the division burning to the ground and a slight smile crossed his face as he thought of that god forsaken place burning, never again able to torture innocent humans againbut as much as it would please him, he would be happy as long as they left them alone and they could live happily together.

Kat walked in the door a little while later and all activities stopped as they stared at her in anticipation hoping for the best but expecting the worst. she had a slight scowl on her face and she walked in and she sttod there staring at each in turn before speaking.

"Okay so here's the deal." Kat began, a slight irritated edge to her voice but there was also a hint of triumph there to.

"I talked to the commissioner, and we came to an 'agreement' so to speak. She knows we have evidence against them that could blow their little scheme sky high, effectively taking them down to the ground so here's what's up. She's agreed to leave us alone for the time being, as long as we don't go spreading around what they've been doing behind the scenes. In other words, as long as we don't expose them then we won't have them to worry about." She explained and although that was a step in the right direction she was still a little irritated that they couldn't just get everything out in the open and bring the Division down. However she wasn't willing to risk putting Brad or Esha's life in danger to do so, and that's exactly what would happen if they went and exposed the Division for what it really was.

brad wasnt to sure he liked the terms that Kat had said the commissioner had set out. the division could secretly apprehend them in the future and no one be the wiser but for the time being it meant that he and Esha could find a place to settle down and finally live in relative peace.

"so I guess this is it huh" said brad standing and offering his hand to Esha "it's finally over." he looked at Kat " I have a feeling that we are all going to get to know each other quite well." he walked over and shook each of their hands in turn thanking them for their help and sacrifice they made in order to help them then he escorted Esha out the door eager to start their life together in somewhat normalcy.

Before they had left, Kat had stopped them and handed Brad a piece of paper. "Hey look, if you two ever need help again just call us. I can't say what will happen from here but we'll back you up if you ever need it." She had told them both and there was no doubt in anyone's mind that she meant every word. After all people like them had to stick together somewhat, because no one else would look out for them that was for sure. Either way she didn't want Brad or Esha to think that they'd help them this once and then forget about them.

"So what do you think's going to happen now?" Esha asked as she glanced up from where she was walking next to Brad. True she was glad to think that for now they didn't have to worry about anyone chasing them down, but she was a little uncertain of where to go from here. Then again, she was pretty sure she wasn't the only one who ever felt that way after all the future was an uncertain thing that could change in any direction.

with a slight nod of his head he walked up the stairs and out the hidden door. they paused by the front door and e looked at Esha squaring her shoulders to his. " no matter what happens from here on out, just remember that you are the best thing that has ever happened in my life. Esha" he said dropping to one knee " you are my true soulmate and the one i want to spend eternity with. will you marry me and make me the happiest man on earth?"

Okay to say that Esha was stunned by this was a literal understatement, in fact she actually had to rethink over what he had just asked her just to make sure she had heard right.
"Did he just......oh my god he just did!!!!" Esha mentally screamed at herself once she'd gotten over her slight daze, and without even giving Brad any word of warning she almost sent them both falling to the floor as she hugged him like she wouldn't let go of him for anything in the world.

"Yes yes and yes!" She said before she gave him a rather heated kiss that should pretty much prove that if he didn't believe she was serious about her answer, well then that should convince him.

brad returned the kiss ten fold his joy was overflowing at her agreement. he couldn't see himself with anyone else in the world. he caught a movement out of the corner of his eye and when he broke off the kiss to look he saw Kat and the others nearly falling over each other to try and hear better. from the looks of it they had heard his proposal and rushed up to hear the answer obviously having a genuine interest in the outcome of the two. he had to laugh at the four of them then turned his attention back to esha and kissed her again, wrapping his arms around her.

It had been three years since they had been together. they sat at a park playing with their little daughter, pushing her on a swing. she was perfect in every way having Eshas silky black hair and her eyes. they had been pleasantly relieved that she had shown no outward signs of the transformation other than her ears having more of a pointed appearance, but even that was not that noticeable or rare, and her eyes were a light colored burgundy.

Brad looked up in between pushes and saw a lone figure sitting across the street watching them. at first he didn't recognize the person sitting there then slowly recognition sank in and he gave a slight wave at Kat. who returned the wave then slowly walked away. they had seen a few strange people over the course of the years, but they had never confronted them and as such the strangers had never approached them. he was sure that a few of them were from the division checking up on them but as far as he was concerned that was all just a bad nightmare, and now he was living in everlasting happy memories.

Even though she knew both Brad and Esha could look out for themselves, Kat still took it upon herself to act as a sort of guardian to the three since even she couldn't say whether the Division had given up completely or not. Either way if anything did happen she wanted to know about it, because like the rest of her crew she was determined to keep the Division from ever gaining a foothold against them again. Not only that but she had come to see both Brad and Esha, and now their daughter, as part of her rather mismatched family even if they were mostly living completely different lives all together.

As she walked away from the three, Kat noticed someone standing nearby partially concealed in the alleyway. She could just make out that they were talking on some kind of cellphone, and her gold eyes narrowed in suspicioun as she watched them. However, the minute this stranger saw her watching he turned and vanished down the alleyway as if he had never been there at all. At the same time she glanced up as a cloud crossed the sun, effectively casting a shadow over everything before the sunlight broke through again.
"Things are peaceful now, but why do I still feel uneasy? I hope this doesn't mean anything, for any of us." Kat thought to herself before she walked off, a serious look crossing her face as she headed home herself. Even if more shadows crossed their paths, they would continue to fight as always. However, through everything that had happened, Kat had to admit that maybe, just maybe, brighter times would always break through.

Brad and Esha walked hand and hand with their daughter in between them. today was her first day of school. tthe giant red bricked building that was to be her school was a newer building and they had requested special permission for her to attend there, since they were just outside the boundry lines for attendance. Brad squatted down and took kaitlin into a tight embrace. "ok sweetheart, remember we love you and will be here to pick you up when you get out k. go have fun and make us proud." he said putting his best smile on even though it killed him to seperate from her, but he knew it was for the best and besides it was only for a few hours.

Kaitlin ran up the three stairs that fronted the schoolhouse then turned and waving to her parents dissapeared into the school. Brad took Eshas hand and gave it a little squeeze then said "I miss her already."

"And you always say you're not wrapped around her little finger." Esha said as she stifled a giggle behind her hand. That was a literal understatement in every sense of the word. Not that she could say much about it because she adored Kaitlin just as much as Brad did, but it was still fun teasing him about it whenever she had the opportunity.

Because of how long they had been living here, it was no longer really necessary for Esha to hide her ears or her tail from sight. No one really thought twice about it when they saw her, which was a definite relief in her opinion. It was getting kind of irritating having to constantly wear a hat and long skirts just to keep her foxlike traits hidden, but now that she didn't have to worry about that it was a very very good thing. True on occasion she'd get some stares, but that was only from newcomers who hadn't lived around her as long as anyone else.
Although she wouldn't deny that she was eternally grateful that Kaitlin didn't end up inheriting the ears and tail. The last thing she wanted was for her daughter to have to deal with everything she'd had to live with in the past, but thankfully it didn't look like that would be an issue. Well then again with the Division still up and running there was no telling what might happen next, but thankfully they had left them all alone for the past years and hopefully they'd continue keeping their distance.

brad rubbed her slightly growing belly, their second child growing inside and said " well I won't make that mistake a second time." he said giggling

he took her hand and together they walked home. as Brad inserted the key the phone began to ring he tried to open the door but in his fumbling he managed to drop the keys. he finally managed to open the door as the answering machine kicked off blinking its red light alerting them that a message had been left for them.

he pressed the button then turned and wrapped his arms around Esha running his lips around hers then kissing her on the nose as they listened to the message.

'brad, Esha, its kat I really need to talk to you." click.
what was that all about he thought

"Hmm.....I think that's the shortest message she's ever left." Esha said and with a shrug of her shoulders she just went back to kissing Brad without thinking much about it. Of course leave it to right then for the phone to start ringing, and it probably wouldn't take much to figure out who was on the other end of the line.

"I'm willing to bet that's Kat again." She said knowing she'd probably win that bet. Although she would admit something hadn't sounded right in Kat's voice when she left that previous message, and she was really hoping it didn't turn out to be as bad as she suspected it might be. However, usually when she had these gut feelings they weren't far off.

"Come on come on pick up already!" Kat said frantically to herself from where she was calling Brad and Esha from within a payphone booth. She was using her cellphone but out here she had a better view of everything, not only that but she could keep an eye on the black van that was sitting nearby. Jake, D, and Blaze were all in the van keeping an eye on Kat as she made her call, and they all looked a little worse for wear. To put it bluntly they looked like they had just escaped a huge fight, and in all honesty that's just what happened.
Without any warning whatsoever they had been attacked back at their base, and they just barely managed to escape without anyone getting injured or worse. Now they were out here trying to stay unnoticed while Kat attempted to get in touch with their two comrades/friends. Mainly because she just had this gut feeling that she needed to warn them, especially if these people were going after any and all half-breeds like them. That definitely put Esha and everyone else in danger, and she needed to warn them ASAP.

brad picked up the phone still teasing Esha a little. "hello" he answered guessing that esha would be right about who was on the other end.

Brad listened intently as Kat quickly told him what had transpired and told him to meet them at the restaraunt on fourth and main tomorrow at four. "ok" he said "we'll be there" and hung up the phone.

he stood there for a moment staring at the phone then looked at Esha and realized that she was waiting for an explanation. "kat and the others have been attacked. they aren't completly sure who it is but she thinks it best if we keep a low profile. she wants to meet us tomorrow at the cafe down the street but i think for now it might be best to go get kaitlin before something happens to her."

Hearing that Kat and the others had been attacked already sent several alarms going of in Esha's mind, but hearing that they weren't sure who it was only made the situation a little more tricky. That meant they couldn't say it was definitely the Division pulling their old tricks again, in fact it sounded like it might not be them at all. Although even she knew not to be totally sure of that.

"You don't think it's the Division again do you? I mean this doesn't sound like something they would do, but still it's suspicious." She said even though she hated bringing up any reference to that god forsaken place, it was still something to think about. Then again, on the other hand they hadn't bothered them since they made their deal, so why would they be striking out again? Something just wasn't adding up right, and the more she thought about it the more Esha began to believe that this wasn't the work of the Division.

" I don't know, it could be te division trying to mask who they are, some kind of backlashing for the deal that Kat struck. mybe they want to get rid of their pet projects all togather so that there is no risk of their other secrets getting spilled. i don't know there are just to man variables at this point in time but we should definitely go and hear the rest of the story from Kat. we can see if your friend Jessica will take Kaitlin until this blows over, at least then she'll be safe." he said hugging her close

"Well either way I hope it's not them, but still this really worries me." Esha admitted without making any move to step away from Brad. Even if this ended up not being related to the Division this still worried her to no end, mainly because if these people came after her and Brad there was literally nothing stopping them from trying to get to Kaitlin. That's what scared her worse then anything, because if anything happened to their little girl she wouldn't be able to stand it. Although she wasn't sure what would be worse, all of them ending up dead or both of them getting killed and the Division getting their filthy hands on Kaitlin.

brad finally pulled away from Eshas embrace butthey had to get going if they were ever goingto make it to Kaitlins school and get her to Jessicas and back to the cafe before Kat grew impatient and left.

the walk to the school was three blocks and then another five to Jessicas house. they rapped on the door and waited patiently for someone to answer. Jessica was a slihtly older lady who had almost instantl taken brad and Esha into her home treating them as her own family and when she heard their story she eagerly offered to take care of Kaitlin for as long as thy needed.

with a few quick hugs they departed and made there way back to the small cafe. finding a small corner both they sat and ordered drinks then sat staring out the window for Kat to show
