Reaching Chantle: The Wartorn Land OOC

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Lake on Sat Jul 19, 2008 7:18 pm

It has only been a few months since the journey of the five heroes had taken place, and in those few months much has happened. The group had disbanded, knowing that each other's destinies could not possibly be intertwined again. The continent of Gachelle has gone into a pre-war attitude, with many kingdoms suspicious of each other. The Central Kingdom, once an advocate of peace and unity, lead by the guidance of their late king, is no longer calm and is seeking justice for the death of their king. Rumors fly fast throughout the kingdoms, and it seems that the citizens of the Central, Eastern, and Southern kingdoms are blaming the king's death on the Northern Kingdom, home to Chast, one of the five. The Western Badlands, home to bandits, rogues, and untamed mythical creatures, are waiting for their opportunity to seek fortune in this upcoming brawl.

In the meantime, the dark knight Renos is still out, seeking both vengeance and Chantle. It seems that the entrance in the Central Desert was not the only way towards the forgotten kingdom, as more still remain. Nobody seems to be paying any attention towards Renos, who used to be the source of all the problems the people of Gachelle had as the newly formed conflict has obtained their attention. The dark knight has fallen back into the shadows, waiting for his opportunity to deal a devastating blow to the continent that would not respect him.

The brink of war is upon the once peaceful continent of Gachelle, and the dark knight Renos is still roaming the landscape unknowingly to all the kingdoms. The five had stopped him before, but can they manage it a second time? Each having to defend their homelands in these dark times, it seems unlikely.

In the end, however, no one can really tell. You can only look ahead and let fate be your guide.

Alright, so this is the second installment to the Reaching Chantle series. The original five are already accepted, just post your characters once more in this thread and any edits you would like to make to either their profile or biography since the last roleplay.

Also this RP is open to everyone, not just the five who I already mentioned. It would be boring if we didn't have any new people, so feel free to join right in!

I'll post the rules, and then you can get to submitting your profiles.

Rules:

1. No godmodding or powerplaying. We're all talented writers here.

2. Quality posts, which means good spelling, grammar, and no one-liners! Try to make your posts more than 150 words (just wait till the text turns green in the reply box)

3. Submit me any ideas you have or PM me about anything you think might not work. I'm very open to different ideas and am willing to help you if you need it.

4. Have fun. That's why we RP, right?

Re: Reaching Chantle: The Wartorn Land OOC

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Lake on Sat Jul 19, 2008 7:23 pm

Player: Lake

Name: Chastisement "Chast" Teller

Age: 24

Race: Human

Occupation: Former Knight

Appearance: Chast is roughly six feet tall, and weighs about one hundred and eighty pounds. He has an athletic build, and a very tan skin tone. Also, Chast has light blue eyes and dark brown hair, which comes down past his eyebrows and ears, and flips up at the end. Chast wears a white tunic underneath all of his clothing, with a long sleeved black shirt made of fine cloth. He has thick, rugged black pants which come over his leather boots. Chast also has a set of chain mail on the top of his long sleeve shirt, and has thick brown gloves. He also has a large over coat, which reaches down to the floor, resembling a cape-like appearance. He is also used to wearing forms of armor, from leather to heavy steel.

Weapons: Being a former knight, Chast is well rounded in most weapons, but prefers that of sword and shield. On his own person, Chast carries a sword and will pick up whatever large object next to him and use it for a shield. The sword is a typical silver longsword, standard issue for the knights of his old kingdom.

Personality: Even though the previous sections make Chast sound dark and mysterious, he is actually a loud, outgoing, childish person for his age. He is one of the first to break the ice, yet remains cool from his years as a leader with the knights. He does have a bad side, usually not fully understanding a situation and typically saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Chast also tries to act as a counselor, trying to talk things out before using violence.

Bio: Chast was born in the kingdom in the far north, were the snow storms that occur there are very harsh. He learned from his father, a Knight with the Royal Army that honor and chivalry were to be highly regarded, second only to family and friendships. His mother was very cautious of Chast, as well as with his many other siblings. Chast was the middle child of thirteen, so he could relate to most of his siblings. As custom for males in the kingdom, the must join a branch of the armed forces at the age of ten. To his father's dismay, most of his older brothers joined the archery or foot solider legions, they not wanting any part in the military. Out of his father's sadness, Chast decided to join the Royal Knights, but failed to show any progress during his first few years as a squire. One day, while training in the barracks, war had been declared, and the Knights were to be the first attack force, to make the war short. Chast wasn't worried for his father, knowing that as Commander of the Royal Knights he would be a fearful opponent on the battle field and would return home. He didn't though, and died a heroes death. When Chast received word of his father's death, he devoted his life to his career as knight and improved very quickly. Eventually, he had become the youngest Commander of the Royal Knights since his father had the position. With great esteem, he accepted the position, but was foiled when the King had died. A renegade knight had said that Chast was responsible, and that he was planning to take over the kingdom. Chast was banned from the kingdom by the royal courts, and decided to travel the world and to eventually regain his position in the old kingdom.

Since the departure of Chast's old kingdom, Chast had come across an adventure having to do with the forgotten kingdom of Chantle. He had met his companions that he holds very close to his heart, but alas, after the journey, they had split up and lost touch of one another. Now, with the death of the Central Kingdom's leader, Chast has rejoined his kingdom's Royal Guard and become commander of the Knight's once more. However, many of the citizens of Gachelle seem to point their fingers at Chast's homeland as the ones responsible for the Central King's death. Chast must now protect his homeland, as he had been trained to do.

Re: Reaching Chantle: The Wartorn Land OOC

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Aslin on Sat Jul 19, 2008 10:41 pm

Name: Sarah Hanat

Age: 22

Race: Human

Occupation: Assasin

Appearance: Sarah is tall and has a well toned body. She is tanned from her constant travelling and work. Her curly, shoulder length brown hair, which she keeps tied up most of the time, has streaks of gold in it. She also has gold eyes flecked with green set upon her oval face. As an attire, Sarah wears bindings about her chest, allowing for easy movement when she's on the job. On both her arms, she sports bronze bands that stretch from her wrists to her elbow. Hidden beneath these bands are sharp blades. Around her waist lies a tool belt that holds her sword and dagger. The belt holds up a long gray skirt that is split down the centre to reveal a pair of well toned legs encased in black breeches. And on her feet, she wears knee length boots.

Weapons: Sarah specialises in the use of sword and daggers. But the weapon that has proved the most useful are the hidden blades in her bands. They have allowed her to kill her targets swiftly.

Personality: Sarah is usually silent and brooding. She observes and listens rather than participate in a conversation but she was not always this way. Also, Sarah is a good leader who commands respect easily.

Bio: Sarah's father had been a Royal knight, serving the King for many years. She loved her father very much as he was the only family she had- her mother had died when giving birth to her. Not having a mother in her life resulted in Sarah growing up around men. Her father taught her how to use the sword and dagger. Where other females had learnt to sew and sing, Sarah learnt to fight and stratagise. But her world came crashing down when her father was murdered by his own friend when she was 17. It was all because of the man's greed for money that led him to kill Sarah's father. Fuelled by rage, Sarah had killed the man. She left the Kingdom before the body was discovered. Ever since then, Sarah became an assassin and was paid well for it. However, Sarah was selective of which job she chose. She only assassinated people who attacked the weak and poor. But no matter how far she traveled, Sarah always wished to go back to her Kingdom but knows she can't.

However, after her journey with the other four and the challenges that faced, Sarah has moved on, letting go of her past. As she begins anew she constantly remembers her four mismatched allies who came together. She not only started her own inn and runs it together with the help of her two companions she spies for her Kingdom during these times of suspicion.

(finally it started!)

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby ohhhhhallibaba on Fri Jul 25, 2008 12:16 am

(Whoa! I was skimming through the OOC threads, and found this! Man, I need to start paying more attention.)

Name: Storm

Age: 20

Occupation: Various. (Bodyguard, hitman, messenger, etc)

Appearence: Shoulder length black hair and purple eyes are usually hidden by a black cloak with a huge hood that covers his entire face. His mouth and chin are usually covered by a peice of black cloth attached to his shirt. Storm's clothes are extremly big so he can easily hide his weapons. His skin has a dark tone to it despite the fact that he never sees much of the sun. He now wears a silver ring on his right middle finger that has designs on the side of the band, telling a story of some kind that nobody seems to understand but him.

Weapons: He has two, one-handed swords on either side of his waist. On the top and bottom of both of his forearms he has hidden throwing daggers. On the outside of his right ankle, hidden in his boot, there is a long dagger that is the length of half of his shin. On his back is a small dai-katana.

Personality: Storm is very cocky. He looks down on everyone who isn't like him. He enjoys quiet evenings at local taverns and inns with a nice glass of wine. Even though he's a real ass, he has a soft-spot, and has put his life in danger to save others in the past.

Bio: When Storm was born, his parents were part of a clan of murderers. At the age of 18 Storm left that lifestyle behind. He simply couldn't bring himself to kill someone that hadn't wronged him. Despite the fact he left, Storm was trained every day all day until the age of 18. After he left, he created his own style of fighting and learned vital parts of the body. Though cocky and big-headed, it's not as great as he thinks it is.

Still posessing the rings given to him, he intends on keeping his promise and giving them to their rightful owners.

(So, I'm thinking that I might want to start off with Storm being in jail for something, but I haven't decided yet.)

Re: Reaching Chantle: The Wartorn Land OOC

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Dead Messiah on Sat Jul 26, 2008 9:49 am

Player: Dead Messiah

Name: Jason Vereor

Age: 19

Race: Human

Occupation: Jason has made his living killing and stealing from whoever crossed his path.

Appearance: Jason has long (to his shoulder-blades and bangs to his chest), black hair. It looks darker, with his pale skin. Though not muscular, he has muscle tone. He's fairly thin but not sickly. He stands at six feet, four inches. His thin lips compliment his thin face, and his sky blue eyes can bore holes through anyone's conscience. He wears mostly black cloth clothes, lightweight and not too hot. He never wore armor, even in battle. The most important piece of apparel, he thought, were his black combat boots. His boots compliment his personality. His arms are tattooed heavily, all black and white, with the exception of one colored bleeding rose on his right arm. His tattoos follow no specific pattern.

Weapons: His iron dagger.

Personality: Jason is quiet, his voice is not heard often, but when he does speak, it's deep and dark; some note it to be 'scary'. He tends to stay alone, but he's capable of working in a group. Not really a leader, nor a follower, he goes his own path, and expects no one else to follow. He's learned not to trust people through past events, but if you get on his good side, he's willing to talk and trust.

Bio: His past is shrouded in mystery, and most of the time, he can't even remember it. He was born into a clan of assassins and thieves. They were nomads, they traveled anywhere and everywhere. He never knew which of the members were his parents, or if they were his parents at all.

Jason always showed aggression and psychopathic traits. He harmed small animals at a young age, and it grew to larger ones. When traveling with thieves, he was in poverty, and rarely had food to eat. He found his food among people, not only stealing food from them, but finding food among their bodies.

He was in the desert when Chast's group came across him. There, he attacked, and recognized the girl whom he had gave his life away to save -- Claire. There, he followed the group for a short while, before attempting to get the bounty on Claire's head, and get his life back.

This got them both captured. Once again, Jason saved Claire from Raziir, and in battle with Raziir, a blade pierced him, and left him for dead. On the verge of death, Renos had made Jason a deal. Jason could have his life back, this time, as the leader of the thieves and assassins -- only if he helped Renos find Chantle, and destroy Chast's. How could Jason refuse?

YEAH, everyone has posted or is in the works of posting their profiles. Great.

Now the bad news: I'm going to be gone for all of next week (A camp), so... we'll have to put this on hold. JUST because this means now actual RPing, doesn't mean that you can't stop using the OOC thread. If anyone asks to join, tell them of my soon-to-be-current whereabouts and then tell them to PM with the character and that I'll get back to them as soon as I can.

Sorry again you guys. D:

Re: Reaching Chantle: The Wartorn Land OOC

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Superfly on Sun Jul 27, 2008 9:22 am

Name: Claire Xevius

Age: 19

Occupation: Thief

Appearance: Claire has very pale skin, Her blonde hair stretches past her neck, it is kept untidy in most occasions. Her eyes are a deep penetrating beautiful blue. She is about 5'6 in size and she is skinny and shows little muscle formation. She wears a black wool jumper, underneath is a similar colored black tank top and blue ripped trousers. She has a small silver hooped ear piercing on her left ear. She keeps a small dagger at the side of her hip, hidden beneath her trousers and jumper. It's blade is made of Iron. Her nails are covered with black nail-polish. At first look she looks like a common street rat, but cleaned up, and she's actually very attractive.

Weapons: An Iron dagger strapped to her hip, hidden beneath her jumper and trousers.

Personality: Claire has proven to be very aggressive, greedy and sometimes just cruel. If she wants something really bad, she won't hesitate to wound anyone to get it. Her greed is sometimes her weakness and she shows a lack for any rules. Sometimes when she gets in sticky situations she uses her cute smile and seductive charm to get her out of difficult situations. She pretends she can't feel emotion, however this could just be an excuse to protect herself from attachment to others.

Bio: Claire's mother was a prostitute. With this burden, Claire found it very difficult to live with the common abuse her mother got from strangers. Eventually, she was killed by some soldiers. Claire was banished from the town as she was branded "Daughter of Vermin". Claire fled to another country, learning how to steal. She was eventually enlisted into a gang of thieves and became intimate with the gang leader. As soon as she was done using him she stabbed him, leaving him for dead. She fled the scene, with the leaders treasure.

Again, she moved from town to town, getting an infamous name as "Sticky Lips" for her cute charm. She is hunted by soldiers, bounty hunters and an enemy from her ex-gang. She likes being called dangerous from high political leaders such as Kings and Royal Knights.

Her schemes got her into a lot of trouble, making her accept a quest with Chast and others. Her intentions were to harm them to get what treasures she needed. Eventually, Claire reunited with her past and met a familiar face, Jason, who saved her in a past life.

She spared his life after he tried to kill her and convinced the others to let him travel with her. That night, Claire stole a valuable ring from Derc. The ring was precious to him, and she fled into the night with Jason. It wasn't long until Derc who was followed by Sarah tracked them down. She avoided a fight and gave the ring back to him.

She departed from the group after this event, being handed a knife from Sarah. Later that night, Jason attacked her, but was stopped by bandits from her former clan. She was brought to their leader, Raziir, who tortured her as revenge for almost killing him. She was branded with more uncanny names that remind Claire of her mother. Raziir original idea was to sacrifice her to raise the Desert Demon which would block off the desert from the rest of the world and guard Chantle. After a while, a conflicted Jason once again saved her, but Claire no longer trusted him.

They faught with Raziir after reuniting with Chast and Co. and were approached by a Sinister man. The team took on both leaders. She watched Jason die at the hands of her former lover and saw Renos dispose of Raziir. The journey was over, and Claire left the party. Regretting what she had done to them but not leaving her life behind.

Over the past few months Claire has managed to avoid being put in prison, but still has kept her old ways going. Her eyes have been recently fixed on a sailboat she wishes to have under her control.

I have a couple tricks up my sleeve. Speaking of which, anyone want to see a magic trick? I have a pencil right here. (Batman refrence.)

ANYWAY, it's good to be back amongst the you guys. You are all accepted (if I have not mentioned that already) and I'm still going to allow others to submit profiles as well. As for Derc, I don't know if Flying is coming back any time soon. If he does, then I'll allow him to jump in, but we just won't have him in the first part.

Also, Aslin! Congratulations on Global Moderator! I know you'll do a great job. :D
