Long Silence
Dr. Banker tried to keep his cool, taking a deep breath in order to focus. Doing procedures like this one was stressful, but it was more than just that. As he made an incision into the girlās arm to view the triceps, he remained silent. It seemed that he didnāt want help from either doctor at the moment. He just decided to drown them out until both the calve muscles and triceps were exposed.
āHer calve muscles are developing nicely. I can see now, the reason why she won the race. Her anatomy is that of a runner, which may become useful to us later.ā Dr. Banker had finally said something. āStevens, clean up the blood, please.ā Dr. Banker asked as he grabbed the camera and took pictures of his findings.
Dr. Stevens had watched her superior work in silence, worried about his state of mind. She didnāt want him making mistakes if he was distracted. When he had spoken of the anatomy of E2, she looked to Lionel to see if he jotted down notes. She really didnāt want to find him eyeballing the new girl. It would just be a bit disturbing and unprofessional.
āYes, doctor.ā Dr. Stevens said as she moved from her place to E2ās right arm to start there. āIf you need me to, I can lead us the rest of the way. You seem out of it.ā
āIāll be fine. Iāll allow Lionel to take over when we get to A3, and you will do A4ā¦ Iām sure you two wonāt be prone to make a mistake on your favorites. It might teach you somethingā¦ That these subject are too be treated as this facilities property for study and experimentation. This means you will respect this property, and that they are nothing more than our lab rats.ā Dr. Banker said sternly before looking to Lionel. āWhen youāre done with notes, help stitch her up, and then we turn her over.ā Dr. Banker said. He was masking his stress by appearing to be in charge and knowing exactly what he was doing.
