Hello, my name is Liv, but that's not important.
Do you like mysteries?
Do you like Victorian era stories?
Do you like the possibility for your character to strike it rich?
Do you like romance, suspense, intrigue, and dastardly old ladies?
Well, if you said yes to any of these questions, or to none of them and want to make my day anyway, SUBMIT A CHARACTER TO 'Tea and treachery In Chesterfield Manor'.
The story? England 1895. Notorious old spinster, the respectable Ms. Agatha Chesterfield has just celebrated her 85th birthday, and has announced to the general public in the neighborhood of her residence that she is far too old to postpone it any longer, and that it is time for her to sort out her massive generational inheritance. She has opened call at her lodgings, an ENORMOUS manor house, for everyone she has ever had the fortune (or misfortune) of meeting in her entire life, offering them a chance to convince her that they are worthy of her millions.
The only rule given so far, is that you must stay in the house for one month, so as to be properly examined.
In the days following the announcement, hundreds have flocked to the residence, from her pet groomer to the postman at her childhood home, but so far all have left empty handed. Visitors to her home have also left quite shaken after only a matter of days, and have refused to talk to anyone about their experiences in the house.
Needless to say, the fear and mystery has only motivated more people who claim connection to the woman to try their hand.
After having seen an advertisement for the challenge, supposedly written by the old crone herself, gracing the front page of the paper, you have decided to either bring up or MAKE UP a connection to Ms. Chesterfield for a chance at the fortune.
You packed your bags and arrived at the manor house, finding it more beautiful on the inside even than it's exterior, and are now being given the chance to meet your fellow competitors. However, though the place is resplendent with servants: cooks, chefs, maids, and butlers (all NPCs), you are surprised to find that the old woman herself, Ms. Chesterfield, is nowhere to be found. All the staff are mute, and as of late nobody has even instructed you as to your mission, or how to prove your worthiness.
However, as you settle in to the quarters of the house and begin to meet fellow guests, you get the sensation, through eyes of portraits, and creaks of the rafters, that you are being watched....
SO COME AND JOIN! Nothing's stopping you, and there WILL be an end of game winner.
