"What the lady says makes sense, sir." Mr. Jones stated simply and William nodded his head in agreement. His plan had been to try and confront the criminals as soon as possible, but the chances of intercepting them as they exited the North Sea were slim to none. Some of the Navy's fastest ships were undoubtedly on there way to inform all forces throughout the Empire to be on the alert. Indeed with the crown tightening its control in the colonies, it would almost be suicide to go there. Most of South America was under the control of foreign powers, making them much safer, and despite the Royal Navy's efforts the Caribbean still remained somewhat of a safe haven for pirates and that sort of folk.
"Alright then. We sail for Havana. Mr. Jones, please inform Mr. Thomas that we are to sail immediately and then get me a course."
"Yes Sir." Jones replied with a quick salute, gathering up his charts and quickly leaving the cabin. Soon the shouts could be heard coming from the deck along with the stamping of feet as the crew cast off and set the rigging. Soon the ship began to rock steadily as it made it's way out of the channel.
Captain Williams sat down in the chair behind his desk, indicating to Miss Whitmoore to take the one opposite of him. "Now that we are underway, would you be willing to explain me what exactly is the purpose of you joining us and what exactly the Admiralty has planned. for you to do.
Horace Thomas continued to meet the gaze of this noble whelp, though not quite as steadily as his captain had. Still, is anger towards this man and the arrogance the man to come aboard this this and presume to tell its captain what what to do certainly did help. "Sir, I don't give a damn about your thoughts or your eyes. This ship is about to leave on a very important mission, and your presence is delaying that departure. The Captain has given you an option about to join us, which is what you seem to want to do. Now you can either accept his offer or you can leave this ship now." At that point Mr. Jones, the navigator, hurried out of the Captain's cabin and made straight towards him.
"The Captain says we are to set sail immediately." He looked like he wanted to say more, but the presence of this Rolance fellow made him decide not to. Horace gave him a quick nod before turning his attention to where he knew the boatswain. "Mr. Goodchild, tell the men to cast off! We set sail immediately!" Horace then motioned for some of the marines to approach. "You now have three choices Mr. Rolance. You may sign aboard the ship's company as the captain offered you to do, you can leave the ship peaceably immediately, or these good men here can 'escort' you from the ship. I will say that if you do choose to join the crew I can arrange for your term of service to be only for the duration of this voyage." Mr. Thomas did not mention that if things did not go well with their mission the voyage might end up becoming a circumnavigation that could easily take three or four years. He also paid no attention to threats the man tried to make using his rank. Serving under the leadership of Captain Hamilton could help you lose some of man's reluctance to treat a noble with brusqueness that other men would deserve.
