Elric sighed, realizing this wasn't going anywhere. The Captain spoke of himself as nobility, but it was the type he often heard his father and those around him laugh at. He was wondering why the crew felt the need to cheer, like Elric had even the faintest idea that they would side with the man who took down two of their comrades. This wasn't about the Princess, the king, or the country despite the Captains speech. This was about arrogance and foolishness, on both sides. Elric was rather shocked the Captain called him a coward. One would think taking a soldier hostage and disabling another one on a ship out to sea would take some guts. "This is clearly going nowhere. Your threats, though grandiosely said as they may be, will not work on me. You act as though shouting and snarling will make me cower, I find it to be rather repulsive. Can you get it through that thick skull of yours? I come abroad, offer help, get ordered to the cell, then you threaten capital punishment? This has gone directly opposite the way I thought it would. 'Hi, I'd like to help you bring my Fiance home'. 'To the gallows!' When you repeat it back it seems kind of foolish. It's kind of like two colliding ego's unwilling to compromise. Actually, it is exactly like that." Elric let out a slight chuckle and shook his head. "This is really quite pathetic."

Death or disfigurement through kneehaul, or I kill the man right here and they open fire. Well, the bullets won't likely hurt as much. Elric tightened the trigger, but stopped. You were supposed to protect her. You swore that to yourself. How can I protect her if I'm dead? She is like a sister to me, yet I'm willing to do all this? And the Captain, willing to risk his man just to look good in front of his crew? Elric took a deep breath and looked at the Captain, his eyes appearing as though he had had enough. "Mr. Hamilton, I find you to be arrogant, egotistical, stubborn, and somewhat of a snarling idiot. But, for her sake, its probably better your that way. If it's still on the table, I will take the original offer. Keep me locked up and then leave me at the next port. I will find my way back to England just fine. If the offers not on the table, your man and I will die right here. Either way, I want you to promise me you'll bring her back. Not for a King that shuns her, and not for a country that abandons her, but for her."
