Eve gasped in surprise as she was pushed in front of Rand. The door was closing at a terrifying rate. She was reminded for a moment of those Indiana Jones movies, where he'd slide under the brick wall and grab his hat just in the nick of time. She wasn't sure they'd be so lucky. 

She charged forward faster than she thought she could go, still gripping Rand's hand so tight that her own hand was numb. And yet, the door was still closing... But they were so close! Evangeline felt the hellish souls nipping at her heels. The demonic heat scorched her inside and out, threatening to trip her up or slow her down. They couldn't afford either. They were closing in fast on the door. Three feet, two, one... With a cry, Eve crashed through the small opening and turned around just in time to pull with all her might on Rand's forearm, yanking him through with her, and out of the fiery depths of hell. She stumbled backwards, pulling them both to the ground.
