Eve sat up and hugged her knees to her chest, catching her breath after such an extreme run. Adrenaline still caused her body to shake, and her voice cracked slightly when she spoke. 

"I think... That's our new everyday job," she said. "On the bright side, maybe not all the spirits will go to hell. Maybe we'll get a good one, and a trip on the road to the Pearly Gates. I mean, not every spirit is hell bound, right?" She brushed a lock of sizzling black hair out of her face and fanned herself with her hand. The demonic heat still hadn't worn off. A small breeze blew north, bringing some slight relief from the sting off the remaining hellish heat and mist.
