Reggie's grip loosened a bit as Velocity hugged him. Not enough to let her go, but just enough to keep himself from crushing her all ready busted up rib. Then came the clincher. He really hadn't seen it coming, but as Velocity's head slid up next to his, he could feel it. It was just a little peck on the cheek but it was so... unexpected.For a minute or so, Reggie sat in a stunned silence. Sure he felt the same way. The only thing that threw him was that Velocity had responded in the way she did right then. He thought for sure it would take at least a week or two longer before she even hugged him back on her own free will. Finally, he broke the calm. "There's the beauty in it Red. Not a thing that says we can't be more. Not a thing that says we have to stay just friends." He whispered, still a bit stunned. He could feel his face getting the slightest bit red, even though he tried not to let it. His hand slid in between them like a wisp of smoke and found its way under Velocity's chin. It lifted up, ever so slowly drawing her head back so Reggie's eyes locked with hers. Not a thing in the world. Reggie dipped down, kissing her with a feeling he hadn't known before. It felt right, she and him, together. It wasn't until a few moments later that he felt the glow of a small lick of flame dancing around the palm of his hand, away from Velocity. "Sorry about that," He said pulling away. "Can't help it sometimes." He shook his hand out to the side. The flame slowly flickered out with each wave of his hand until it was gone completely.
