Sayo's pout only increased when Sena assumed that she had been at the carnival alone and had the nerve to scold her for it. She defensively crossed her arms over her chest, irritated even more that the girl hadn't even introduced herself before acting like an adult know-it-all. "I was not alone, my mom and dad and brothers were there too, so don't act like you're my mom or something! And don't call me a little kid either, you're not that much older than me." Altogether, she wasn't too surprised that Sena was right about Tomasu.

When Sena smiled at her, Sayo's pout lessened a bit and she began feeling guilty for acting like a brat. Not that she would have admitted it. "I guess I don't wanna sleep outside," she admitted shyly. A quick glance at their strange surroundings caused the young girl to shiver slightly. She looked back at Sena curiously while the older girl dug around in her pocket for something. When she pulled out some candy, the pout on Sayo's face instantly disappeared, replaced with a happy smile. As she set the candy on the bridge, Sayo's smile faded into a look of pure curiosity. Why didn't she just hand it to them? Her pondering was interrupted by Tomasu's delight, and she grabbed the candy as well, studying it for a moment before putting it in her pocket for later.

Tomasu stuck his tongue out at her and she stuck her tongue out right back, leaning forward slightly. She then hurried off after Sena, not wanting to be left behind. She stood hesitantly behind Sena gazing open mouthed at the large red door. The paint was cracked, worn, and faded, but it was still an impressive sight. Grey wooden studs made three vertical, even lines on each door. After craning her neck up once more, she found her view blocked by one of the overhanging balconies, supported by old, flimsy looking grey supports.

Sayo jumped back, her head snapping back down when the door opened before they knocked. It opened seemingly by itself, exposing a vast open room. The floor was made up of thin strips of bamboo, each strip so close to the next, you could barely see the seem. It was immaculately clean and seemed recently polished. Directly across the room was a large, dark staircase. Sayo took only a moment to take all this in, Tomasu pushing past them with his bike, before she rushed forward and peeked around the door, bewildered when there was no one there.

A loud voice startled her, her head jerking up to locate the source of the voice. Again seeing no one, she backed up next to the other two. This was starting to seem like some sort of fairy tale. She looked back out the door and wondered if that wasn't safer after all.
