Derran was up walking around in his bathroom. He was washing his hands from a meal the servants had made for him. Derran wasn't all that much for eating at the moment but they persuaded him otherwise. Of course he did need the nourishment to replenish his energy from all of the blood lost. Still Derran didn't eat all too much, his appetite really wasn't much of anything. After he washed his hands he looked at the bandages wrapped around his torso shifting to a sudden incline once it came to his left shoulder. The left shoulder was completely covered. They said he would have to keep the bandages on for a few days until the wound fully closes, they also said he might be left with a scar. It didn't matter to Derran the gash wasn't deep enough for him to lose his arm and that's all that matters to him. He would resume training immediately but they implored him to not do anything strenuous for fear of reopening the wound, if Derran did that then he might really lose his arm. Frustrated by this there wasn't much for him to do so Derran decided to wander about the halls of the manor.

Derran dressed himself in a new shirt and pants and placed on new shoes. His coat at the moment was being cleaned and stitched up. Derran wandered the halls, servants never to far from reach, as he looked for his father. Soon enough Derran bumped into his sister Vanessa. "Derran!" She cried as he ran up to him doll in hand. "Vanessa." he responded listlessly. "Look at my new dollie!" Vanessa spoke triumphantly as she held up the doll. Derran not paying any particular interest spoke, "Hm, that's nice...hey where's father?" Derran spoke quickly changing subject. "Oh um he's in the the um, uh, study?" "Yeah the study." Vanessa spoke as she began to play with the doll. "Is she pretty Derran is she?" Vanessa spoke incessantly placing the doll up to Derran. "Yeah, yeah thanks." Derran spoke sounding less than sincere as he moved passed Vanessa heading towards the study. Vanessa soon gave a put and then a frown as she looked at the doll. "Well I think your pretty." She muttered to herself in a rather sad tone.

Derran entered the study to find Oster sitting behind his desk with a book upon his desk. "Father?" Derran cautiously called out. "Hm?" Oster snapped awake it seemed as he pulled his head away from the book. "Derran?" "Ah my boy yes what is it?" "Are you feeling more better?" Oster asked concerned. "Yes I'm fine father." Derran spoke rather plainly. "That's good I know nothing can keep a good Leradine down!" Oster spoke rather boisterously as he gave a hearty laugh. He soon stopped short as he looked upon the serious countenance of Derran. "Is there something troubling you my son?" "You seem distracted." Oster asked concerned. "Oh, it's nothing," Derran some what lying, "I was just wondering were Lineage is?" Derran asked. "Oh well I placed it in the family armory but your not considering resuming training are you?" Oster asked more than bit worried. "No, no I know I'm not suppose to do anything, I just wanted to know where it was." Derran spoke as he looked around the study. There where many bookshelves and a fire place in the middle of the right wall of the room. There were comfort chairs standing before it. "Well don't do anything unwise son, I wouldn't want anything more serious to happen to you." Oster warned. "Now is there anything else you need my son?" Oster asked. "No, nothing father I'll be going now." Derran said as he left for the door. "Alright take care my son." Oster said as Derran closed the door behind him.

Derran soon made his way to the family armory. He opened the door behind the family crest and entered the white walls of the armory. Derran closed the door behind him as he walked down the armory halls. Derran moved passed various blades, armors, shields, projectile weapons and such. There was quite a collection, a lot of it from the widely traveled ancestors of the Leradines. There were many artifacts from different worlds, mementos of the Leradines accomplishments in the Alliance. Derran took the time to look at the many treasures and artifacts. History was all here on display as Derran remembered the times his father would spend telling him of each and everything. Oster always had a proud look when taught Derran of the Leradine history. Told stories of their travels and what they would bring back from those travels, it fueled the imagination for Derran for many years. At the end of the hall Derran looked upon Lineage. The blue broadsword stood with pride behind it's glass case. A light constantly shined down upon it, reveling in it's glory as always. Out of all of the artifacts in the room Lineage was the only thing not from another world. The sword was in fact made by an ancient ancestor of the Leradines. Derran remembered his name, Galen, Galen Leradine. Galen was a famous blacksmith, one of the best. Many from far and wide would come to him to make them a weapon of great craftsmanship. The blades he made were fine and strong, and were the envy of many a warrior. While Galen lent his talents for a price, he would in secret create his masterpiece. A sword that would be made with only the finest of materials and crafted to be the strongest most durable blade he could possibly make. It was a challenge but it was a labor of love and soon he would create the undeniable blue broadsword of the Leradines. The sword is certainly one of a kind in every sense of the word. It's probably why Nazo was interested in Lineage. There isn't another one like her in the universe for it is the only one made. For generations this sword has been in the family since Galen made it, used it, and passed it to his son.

Derran looked at Lineage for a long time and while he contemplated going against his orders he knew he shouldn't. Derran sighed, while he longed to return to training he couldn't risk further debilitating injury. Derran stepped away from the sword and left the armory. Derran continued to walk the manor and made his way back to his room. He stared at his bed already made up again and the tray of food gone. Derran sat upon his bed and began to think about that flash of light from earlier. He wondered what it was. He hoped that the other members investigated it by now. It certainly was bright enough to not be ignore, unless of course you we're inside the whole time. Of course Derran found it unlikely since most members were outside dealing with the fires. Derran sighed he felt like he should at least look at what happened. As Derran headed for the front door he was stopped short by a servant. "Oh young master!" cried the servant as she ran up to him. "Here's your other coat!" She exclaimed as he handed him a coat that was pretty much the same as the other brown one he usually wears. It was his spare as Derran reached out and took it. "Thanks." Derran dully spoke as he placed one arm through it but when he went to placed his left he grimaced in pain. Noticing the discomfort the servant rushed to his left side to help. "Oh please young master let me do that!" She cried as she gently placed the coat over his injury. Derran didn't like being waited on like this, it made him feel feeble but he wasn't going to make a scene of it today. "Thanks again." Derran spoke sounding sincere enough. Derran left the manor and made his way to where he saw the light.
