Even more assured by the fact she had to have only 1/5th of her chakra at most at this point, he had one of the three remaining clones run out to meet her by leaping into the air for an aerial strike with his twin swords, averting both weaknesses of the Clone Jutsu by making her focus on an aerial target(too high up to see the shadow) and the lack of any physical contact with anything. As it dropped from above, Maren prepped a shuriken-multiplying jutsu, tacking on a tracking jutsu as well, and aimed it at where Soratushi would be if she were to try and intercept the clone like her personality would make her do. After all, he was a genin on his own, she was a jonin, who didn't think they were clever enough to work cohesively as a unit AND had assumed her Shadow Clones would be enough to take out the team. If she DIDN'T fall for this bait, she'd be breaking character more than the English dub of almost ANY One Piece character.
