Annelise certainly wasn't the only one who was absolutely dumbfounded by the kiss. Seb almost found it hard to keep his lips against hers. As he kissed her, he realized it was something he'd never really done before. Well, he might have done so in middle school but that felt like a lifetime ago and certainly wasn't a sensation he remembered from before. To be this close with another human being that wasn't family seemed foreign to him. He'd kissed cuts and scrapes on Leighton before or hugged her when he picked her up from school, but he had never, ever kissed someone on the lips like this before.
He felt numb and weak and frightened all at once. His body even shook slightly from the situation. He was usually the one to have a grip on situations, to know what to say and do without a worry. But, this was a time when he was forced to draw a blank. Seb had no knowledge in this field of romance. It was completely foreign to him. Eventually, after a few seconds that seemed like years, he pulled away and looked down at her with his mouth gaping slightly and his eyes wide. He still shook lightly in a bewildered manner as he watched her for a reaction. Her hands were still on his shoulders and his hands sort of hung at his sides as he had no idea what to do with them.
"S-S-Seb," the girl whispered. Any other time, he might have told her to speak up, but now it seemed weird to speak loudly. Besides, they were also so close it would be redundant to speak above a hushed murmur. "Y-yes?" he asked, not knowing if she'd get upset for making things even more awkward which he was sure he had. "Please...I-I don't want this if it's only out of pity..." Seb bit his bottom lip lightly, looking a bit concerned as he shook his head. No, it certainly wasn't out of pity. But why had he done it?
"No...it's not out of pity," he replied, firm enough to be convincing. "I...I'm not sure why I did it..." He looked aside and chewed the inside of his cheek slowly. "I just...did."
