Not long after the Captain made the announcement, Ambassador Kujarm Rel made his way to the bridge. The older Trill approached Zekr, giving the commander a brief nod. He commented, "Well, this wasn't how I imagined I'd end my diplomatic career. I imagine we're gonna have quite the story to tell Starfleet Command, whenever we get back the Slipstream Drive online again."

Meanwhile, Alexia turned back over to face the Captain. "Sir, we're receiving a subspace transmission...it appears to be an automated message of some kind..."

The blue-skinned humanoid touched her console for a moment, and then the message started to play across the Bridge, once the Universal Translator deciphered the message.

"...This is the Eruk, requesting assistance....the ship is heavily damaged, and Warp Drive is not operational....This is the Eruk, requesting assistance....the ship is heavily damaged, and Warp Drive is not operational...."

The message repeated itself for two more loops, before Alexia shut it off.

"Sounds like distress signal." Kujarm noted, eyebrow raised.
