Lance was about to protest the idea of Koko and Satogi heading back, but after seeing the wounds on Satogi, he nodded understandingly.

"Alright I guess that makes sense..." Lance muttered as Koko seemed to hoist Satogi's massive arm on his shoulders and proceed to walk him back towards the safe room.

"Hey wait!" he called to the two, who stopped and turned around. "I'm continuing on from here, so if I don't see or hear from you two again, I wish you the best of luck. Koko, when you reach the tenth floor, I hope you know exactly what path you wish to follow. And Satogi, you will do your lineage great honor. I know it from your character."

And with that, he waved a possibly final goodbye as the two set off back towards the safe room to heal. He hoped they would be alright. However, he couldn't focus on his new friends. He had to venture onward. And so, he continued through the darkness, looking for the staircase that would take him forward on his long and arduous journey.
