It had been a long few years. In some ways, he didnāt know how it had been four years. He didnāt know how Jess was already eighteen and a senior, how he had been managing by himself for this long. How long it had been since heād saw Cliff. And then it felt like it had been a lifetime. How much had changed in those four years. He knew that he couldnāt have changed that much- lost a little weight, gained a few more grey hairs, and now actually wore a tie on a regular basis, but he wondered if Cliff would even recognize him if he saw him. If heād even recognize Cliff. For some reason, the other boy- no, he was a man now- had been on his mind recently. He thought about him more than heād like to admit. He wondered how he was doing, if he was happy.
Toby shook the thought out of his head as he headed back into the building. He couldnāt linger on it now, he needed to get back on the ball. But a familiar figure nearly made him stop dead in his tracks, as if heād summoned him up. Toby couldnāt see him perfectly, couldnāt be sure if it was him- but there was something in his gut that told him it was. But he was dumbfounded, and couldnāt quite get the words out to say anything.
