Echo was glad to hear that Flo was coming on the mission, especially if they ended up facing off against her sister. After all, with her blood bond, Echo could not use her powers against Doll. Thankfully, Doll couldn't use her powers against Echo either. "I imagine you beat him, it's not like he's that hard to kick around." Echo snickered, she had beaten Cal many a time. "I heard that!" Cal growled from the other side of the gym. Echo didn't mind, she still didn't like him, of course, but his infatuation never seemed to get any better. It was almost disturbing, all things considering. It was good to see Flo up and about, Echo was glad to see her healthy, doing what she should have been doing all along. "Honestly, you adapated to demonhood so easy, it's almost scary," Echo was teasing of course.
Sana came up from behind, looking as though she had just finished sparing. No doubt she had been practicing. Sana's transformation was perhaps the most incredible of all. Sana had gone from shy, barely able to speak without stuttering, unable to look someone in the eye, to someone that walked with their back straight and spoke with ease. If Echo hadn't known, she would have guessed that Sana had always been out of her shell. Echo reached out, taking one of the offered cookies. "Thanks, how's Polair doing?" Echo inquired, wondering if she was out of the East Tower yet. "She's in rehab, she also needs to be sentenced for her betrayal, but she's alive, so that's good." Echo nodded, glad to hear that Polair was at least headed in the right track.
"Yeah, I've been swamped with work. I just want things to cool down, I'm kind of tired of all out wars, you know?" Echo was eager to get this over with. She liked taking on one foe at a time, not heading face first into battle, knowing that some of her friends would not be returning. "I want things to do back to how they used to be," not that Echo could really complain, she was making enough now that when she finally did branch off and squirrel herself away somewhere, she could sustain herself for quite a long time. Of course, with Flo doing better, Echo would have to push off her plans. Should she take Flo with her? Echo would have to ask her later. Perhaps it would be better not to mention it at all, after all, Flo seemed to like being part of the Tower Society.
"Yeah, sure, let's go get some supper." Echo agreed, stretching. She was going to have a session in the gym after with Christopher to get used to their new equipment and practice in their new battle uniforms. After all, practice made perfect. Echo followed them to the mess hall, where the food was just being served. Somehow, it almost seemed as though there were a rift between Echo and Flo, as though the two of them were growing apart. Perhaps it was how busy Cress was keeping them, but Echo could tell that things were not the same as when they were partners. It was better that way, she told herself, because when she finally did get away from the Tower Society, Flo would get over her loss faster.
