Anita stopped walking when Cassie picked up the phone. She looked around as she did her best not to eavesdrop. Although, she couldn’t help it that she heard one part of the conversation. She smiled and waved at the little boy from earlier who walked by. Antia did turn to face Cassie when she addressed her. She smiled at her and glanced once more at the food vendors.
“Sounds good. I think I am going to just get a snack for now, so I’ll be heading to the corn dog stand. Let’s meet back here in a bit. We can find somewhere together to eat. I promise not to disappear again, as the team isn’t here to keep you company,” she replied, trying to make a joke at the end. Anita gave her one more smile before she walked off.
The line wasn’t long luckily. She got her two corn dogs with mustard in a brown food tray and a bottle of water. Anita returned to the spot where she had left Cassie. She opened the water bottle to take a sip as she waited for Cassie. I wonder if Cassie will want to do apple bobbing after eating. I never tried it before, but it seems like it could be fun. Anita shifted her weight, tucked her water bottle under her arm, and pulled out her phone once more. She went to her calendar to see how busy the rest of her week was.
