Lu Cai's reply didn't come from inside his bedroom, but actually from just down the hall. Wang Rou turned, trying to get his eyes to focus on the prince. Even though he had technically slept since the previous afternoon, he felt extremely weary, but did his best to hide it.
"Dianxia..." he whispered, ignoring the infuriating nickname as he straightened up and tried to hide the pain and exhaustion. "Have you been out all night?"
Even in his debilitated state, Wang Rou could tell that Lu Cai was drunk. He tried not to think about where the crown prince had been, ignoring the tightness in his chest at the thought of Lu Cai spending all night in a brothel.
"You should..." He trailed off, closing his eyes for a moment and taking a shaky breath before trying to speak once again. "You should get to bed right away before your father finds you."
