Tips: 0.00 INK Postby DeadlyBandages on Sat Jun 28, 2008 9:24 pm

In the year 2099, humanity has reached new levels. We have found cures for diseases thought uncurable in our day, like HIV, Huntington's disease, Alzheimers, and many others, some not known in our day. But the advances are not only medical. Humanity has manged space travel due to the harnessing of anti-matter. Though incredibly unstable, anti-matter can now be contained, and used as a fuel for ships designed for faster than light travel (FTL). Humanity has terrafromed the planet Mars, along with Jupiter's moon Io, along with several other planets and moons outside our Solar System. In our travels outside the Solar System, we have made contact with several alien races, some friendly, some not so much. This has bolstered economies incredibly through trade. But unfortunately, not all the trade is legal. Black market dominates unmonitored sections of space, ranging from backroom drug deals to slave trade. The Joint Commitee of Species (JCS) has put men (and women) out to quell this, but the criminals are diligent and will not give up. You play as one of the many people living in this galactic community.

The races are as follows:

Human: Typically as they are today, although the average lifespan is now 130-135, and their immune system is much stronger.
Von'kr: Feline like humanoids, with a strong tendecy for shamanism. They are primarily carnivorous, and dislike vegetarianism, believing it is a sign of weakness. They stand about 6'5, and weigh 200lb, they have a pinkish skin. There is very little difference between the genders.
Shinnora: Large, hulking creatures with a "kill first, no need for questions later" attitude. They are generally atheist, and are prone to mock others they do not see as equal, which is practically every being that is not Shinnora. They stand at 7 feet, and weigh about 250lb. They closely resemble bipedal toads, and share the same facial features and green, warty skin. Females tend to have blue skin instead of green.
Endix: Highly intelligent quadrapeds that are known for their polite behaviour. They are egalitarian, and are insectivorous, although they do enjoy a variety of mosses and algaes common to their planet. While on all fours, they stand at 4'5, and weigh 80lb. They have scaley skin that comes in a variety of colours. They resemble quadrapedal raptors.

The ships are as follows:
Starskidder: Essentially a flying RV with rockets, this is the most common starship. It can support up to 15 people, requires atleast 2 to operate , and is easily customized.
Shredder: A jet designed for space travel, this ship comes with high class plasma gattling guns. It can support up to 2 people, and requires 1 to operate. It is generally only military use, and is rarely customized.
Nova: The largest type of ship, this is fully equiped with thousands of guns and weapons. It can support up to 100, 000 people, and requires 100 to operate. This ship is always military use, and is never customized

Your character sheet should look like this:

Name:
Age:
Gender:
Race:
Occupation:
Outfit/Weapons
Height:
Weight:
Appearance:

Guess I will start this at three people. If it starts, you can still join. BTW, Kronos, you don't have to describe the ship. Nova class would take forever to describe.

(Ok. We have 3 people. So, this will start on a Space Station known as the Heeley Station.)

Korek marched through the market sector, the blinking lights and neon signs occassionally catching his attention. The largest sign was displaying an advertisement for Coca-Cola, the one human drink Korek could bear to ingest. He decided to move further, noticing a few illegal transactions occurring within the swar of shops, but he had no time to deal with common criminals. No, he had to find work fast. Korek found a small bar, where he decided to rest for a bit. "Barkeep! One cosmic jackhammer!" The barkeep brought over a blue, frothing drink that had a slight glow to it. Korek began sipping, and looked out into the market sector

Jacob sat in the corner of the room. He saw a creature walk up to the barkeeper and order some disgusting looking liquid. He got off of his chair and approached the thing. "How the hell are you supposed to drink that?" He said blatantly.

"Its a Shinnora delicacy. I could ask you exactly the same thing about wine. That is truly disgusting." Korek took another sip from the drink, knowing it made the human uncomfortable. He put down the mug and grinned at the human.

"Uh, barkeep, get me one of those... And get me a throw-up bag while you're at it," Jacob said. The barkeep set a mug on the table in front of Jacob. "You might not wan-" "BOTTOMS UP!" Jacob yelled and knocked the whole mug down in one gulp. "I'm... I'm fine." Jacob clutched his stomach with pain and fell onto the ground sobbing with hurt. He yelled and flailed everywhere, finally coming to a rest, his eyes closed. He was unconscious.

"Stupid human...Its too high in acidity to be just guzzled like that. Surprised his stomach didn't explode." Korek let out a long, croaklike sigh. "Might as well help him." Korek pulled out an antacid tablet from his med kit, and placed it in the man's mouth. Korek took out some water, and began pouring it down the man's throat, allowing him to swallow the tablet. "Well, he was brave, I'll give him that."

"Docking Sequence Engaged" blared the bridge Com as the Heavy Port thrusters of the Deus Ex fired, slowing the ship down and bringing it in alignment with one of Heeley Station's main airlocks. The whole station gave a shudder as the magnetic locks engaged tethering the ship to the massive space station.

Y'nil got up from his posh captains chair, and yelled to the bridge crew, "Keep the damn thinrunning, and I'm off for a drink!" He took the long route, walking along kilometers of corridors and lifts, until he had made it to the bar.

He walked in, to see...

Korek hefted up the human into a chair, setting him down in it. He looked at the barkeep "Should wake up in a couple minutes. If his body can clear out anything like a Shinnora's can." Korek saw the Shinnora captain enter the station. Korek went up to greet the captain, Korek once served in the military, so he was mildly recognized among specific soldiers "Hello there. Didn't expect to see another Shinnora here, especially not a military Shinnora. What brings you here?"

John looked at his watch, and at the man slumped in the chair. He nodded at Haxley, and his first mate pressed a button on the detonator, and the pirates grabbed the man. Walking out of bar, sonic charges detonating behind him, he pulled out a deceased agent's ID card and flashed it at a cop moving towards them decidedly. Continuing on to his blockade-runner without incident, he threw the unconscious man into the cargo hold and shut the blast doors.

Y'nil looked at the other Shinnora, and the human. The Shinnora was hosting the human into a chair, and from the looks of it, he had tried some of the more potent drink that the galaxy had to offer. He strode forward, and sat down on one of the metal barstools. He looked at the other his species here, and laughed.

"It's great to see another of us here!"

His remark was cutting, for the Shinnora were few and wide in parts of the galaxy, but numerous enough to be considered the dominant species in others. This was one of the few-and-wide regions, and Korek was the first Shinnora he had seen in three weeks.

"I've just stopped here for refueling and some supplies, Got a whole regiment of troops on-board, and do they eat!"

He was transporting troops to another pirate infested planet, where the JCS 478th Assault regiment would be conducting Operation: Hammerfall. This was the elimination of the notorious "Litek" pirate ring, through overwhelming firepower and the destruction of an entire planet's surface.

"Barkeep, one Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster!"

The barkeep shot a quizzical look, as this drink one of the strongest in existence. It's effect was said to feel like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon, wrapped round a large gold brick. He poured the various ingredients into a solid Lexan glass reserved for this drink, where they started to bubble and fizzle and turn a bright green. He dropped a penny in, and it started to fizzle and corrode. He slid the glass across the bar to Y'nil, who took and drank a very tiny sip.

"Tis good."

That sip hit him the force a half brick in a sock, but he was Shinnora, and it was more like a sock full of rocks then a brick. He shuddered and paused for a moment, and took another sip. These were good, but he would have the mother of all hangovers in the morning.

Korek shot up at the sound of the large bang coming from the other side of the sector. "Sonic charges. C-class. Those are illegal... Pirates." Korek ran out of the bar. He turned and shouted to the military man "Follow me! This may be a terrorist threat!"

Y'nil pounded his fist upon a point on his gilded sash seconds after hearing the sonic charges. That simple motion opened a channel with his Helmsman, who was always supposed to be on duty, in case there was anything sudden. The job rotated through day an night shifts, and was regarded as one of most tiring in the fleet.

"Intercept all outgoing traffic, we have a pirate situation on our hands!"

This order caused a myriad amount of changes on board the Deus Ex. Firstly, the secondary guns of the battleship swung into action, their Radar and Sensor grids engaged, tracking the various ships coming and going from the station. And there was also transmission broadcast on every channel in the communications range, "Halt all egress, this is a military operation, attempting to leave will warrant the use of lethal force." This would be devastating to civilians, but ones with military training would recognized this as a normal warning hail, and the targets of this hail would know just what it meant for them.
