A vast range of fauna inhabit the World; most of the animals presented are notably chimeras or crossbreeds of two real world animals.

Air Nomads

Badgerfrog β€” Green and brown frog with a trim of white fur.
Firefly β€” Bio-luminescent flying insect.
Flying bison β€” Large, flying mammals sacred to Air Nomads as the orAginal Airbenders.
Hermit crab β€” Crab with a shell-switching lifestyle.
Ring-tailed winged lemur β€” Small animal closely related to winged lemurs.
Winged lemur β€” Flying black and white lemurs kept as pets.

Water Tribes

Arctic hen β€” Arctic bird bred for its meat in the Southern Water Tribe. Nearly identical in taste to its swamp counterpart, the possum chicken.
Arctic hippo β€” Mammal that lives in the South Pole and is hunted for its blubber.
Arctic seal β€” Swimming mammals that live in the South Pole.
Buffalo yak β€” Four-legged, furry, horned mammal used for transportation.
Cuttlefish β€” Used to make paint that is applied for ceremonial markings.
Fish β€” Various species are typically relied on for food in the Water Tribes.
Koala otter β€” Oceanic mammal with gray fur and large ears.
Ming snake β€” Snake that lives in the South Pole; known to bite humans.
Octopus β€” Cephalopod that lives in the sea.
Otter penguin β€” Penguin with four flippers used for sledding.
Ox goat β€” Large, four-legged herbivore.
Polar bear β€” Non-hybridized arctic creature, native to the Southern Water Tribe. Bones used in crafting weapons and pelts for carpets.
Polar bear dog β€” A large, four-legged wild carnivore; it was historically feared and hunted by the Water Tribe, but can be tamed.
Polar dog β€” Large dog; kept in Southern Water Tribe as pets.
Polar leopard β€” White leopard found at the poles; used for clothing in Southern Water Tribe.
Seal β€” A mammal whose skin is used to build tents.
Tiger seal β€” Striped brown seal; hunted for meat.

Turtle seal β€” Brown seal with a hard shell.
White hamster β€” Small, white rodents.
