We all know the world was created. How? Mortals shalt never unravel the secrets that the Old Ones know. But we all know the universe was created a very long time ago. Throughout time, the Earth has developed and adapted and changed in countless ways that cannot always be recorded. The mysteries and riddles of the past are an enigma that human beings can only desperately strive to discover. Ah, if only there was a way to life forever, only a way to preserve oneself in a strong state where one could watch the mysteries of time unfold itself unto the glorious prime of knowledge.
If. Only.
You may not know it, or you may not believe it, but there is indeed a way to live forever. But, to do this, you must sacrifice everything you ever had and would have as a mortal creature to transfer through the Illusion into immortality. Do to this, however, you must enter The Arena.
For what seems like eternity, The Arena has been home to the secret competition for immortality, the Mortal Battle. The Mortal Battle is a series of complicated challenges and tasks and fights that earn you your right to eternal life. It's timeless, endless pugnacity has been nothing more than an infamous legend, a myth, if you will, of the strongest and bravest mortals gathering to an unknown location to battle for their immortal bodies.
And who, you may be wondering, runs this fantasy arena in Neverland? A vampire queen. Yes, yes, indeed, a vampire queen. That is the secret to the immortality, you see. Vampires are not Dracula and that Romanian rubbish, or the sparkling statues who suffer through high school for infinity. The Vampire Queen is the mother of all vampires ever to have walked the earth, the creator of every super-natural nightmare to spawn into existence. She is the one to grant the Gift and perform it and operates the game. Not much is known of the Queen's past, as she is the oldest of the vampires and the most powerful, but her face is iconic to The Arena. She also decides who enters the game, and who leaves it alive.
The tales of The Arena and its Immortal Game are what are spoken of in books and movies and its champions are the greatest immortals ever to roam the Earth. The entire world longs for infinite life, and only few are given the opportunity to fight for it.
I'm here to tell you it's real.
And you now have the chance to fight.

Setting: this role-play will take place in a slightly futuristic Earth. The Arena will be set in either a European area or and African/Egyptian area(I haven't decided which yet). It will be in more than likely a large landscape such as a desert or forest or something of that nature. Any questions concerning technologies or places of this role-play, feel free to ask(I'll go ahead and say that all cities and countries are the same).
Vampires: the vampires of this world are basically the same as the ones in common myths; they require blood of strictly human beings to survive(meaning no animal substitutes), they cannot be out in direct sunlight(indirect sunlight still causes enormous pain; direct sun causes them to burst into flames and break into ashes), and they continue to be stronger than the strongest of human beings. The only differences are that becoming a vampire does not make you instantly beautiful(if you have scars as a human, you'll have the same scars as a vampire; same goes with most blemishes, such as pimples, freckles, blackheads, etc), you are not required to sleep in a coffin/crypt/casket/etc, and any powers aside from strength and being able to communicate and sense other vampires is rare. Vampires can easily pick up mortal emotions, but cannot read their minds(unless they are gifted with some extra power). Their bodies can withstand much harsher climates and conditions than humans, so you could find a vampire up in space or down at the bottom of the ocean. Vampires are also not well known in the mortal world beside through media as fictional creatures; most vampires remain in The Arena with the Queen or keep low-key lives in the world, such as living in places where mortals could not go. Questions? Please ask.
Humans: humans are exactly the same as they are in our world as in the role-play world. Nothing has changed about them. Moving on.
The Queen: The Queen is the head-hancho vampire that I will be controlling in the game. All vampires fear or despise her; very, very few vampires can rival her power. Those that can are either dead or live off in unknown parts of the world; the Old Ones could, if in combined effort, injure her, yet they are too loyal to her to even think of it. The Old Ones are her court, however, and assist her in the rule over other vampires and The Arena's Immortal Game. I'll post a character sheet for her so she is better understood, as she will be a character all characters will come in contact with.
The Guide: There is also a non-playable guide character that I will be controlling that will both assist the players and basically 'guide' them through the game. I'll post a sheet for this character as well, as she is a character all will interact with.
The Mortal Battle/Immortal Game: which indeed goes by two names. As aforementioned, the Mortal Battle is a tournament where human beings pit life and limb against other humans in the quest for immortality. There are a variety of challenges, from brain-puzzling tasks to sheer, brute fighting where only the smartest and robust come out both alive and victorious. The beginning of the game starts out with humans on small teams, whereas the teams will eventually split to go against each other(it's the crude act of making those who have come to work together destroy one another that is so thrilling!). It begins with "easier" tasks and grows until it is physically, mentally, and emotionally more difficult; it is designed to cast the weakest asunder until the very best are left to be made into immortal beings. Questions? More info? Ask, please!
- I appreciate that will be strong, well-made characters in the role-play. Basically, no god-modding or Gary-Stus or whatever is the slang for it. Become the character. Become mortal.
- I will allow other vampire characters as long as they are sensible in the story-line. They obviously won't be playing for immortality since they are already immortal. They will be working under The Queen if you do create one, unless you've got the idea for a rogue vampire.
- I want this role-play to go a bit slowly so no one is left behind, but not so slowly that we all lose interest. I'd say a fair post every 2 days unless the story's stuck.
- No one-liners and nothing less than a paragraph or two.
- Don't be afraid to ask questions!
- I reserve the right to deny characters I see unfit and all that jazz. Also to add and take away rules(mainly because I'm forgetful).
- Babies.
- First come first serve basis. I'll keep accepting until I decided we've got enough people.
- DON'T POST CHARACTERS HERE!
- I'm still indecisive of where I'll put this at. As in, in the Tabs or keeping it in the forum.
