In the interest of maintaining historical relevance, I would like to point out that the Western Allies had no idea of the atrocities being conducted in Germany, Poland, Slovakia, etc at the time. So, really there should be no way that any character would know that Hitler was massacring Jews at the time.

Maybe some kind of town event? Also what month and roughly what date/part of the month is it? I get that it's warm and summery, but without knowing what month it is atleast is a little confusing.
